Cynically it paints the party as having built something in the province despite historically being the party of not having any money for actually doing so. Even worse that in this case Horgan froze the project while initiating reviews that led to billions in cost overruns during a time that it was clearly too late to stop it. But then again this is the same party that didn't want a bridge over the Fraser in 2014 to replace the Masey Tunnel despite everything pointing at a bridge now being the only palpable solution.Like the astonishignly ironically named 'Dam John Horgan'
Site C dam naming met with disbelief in northeast B.C.
Name for dam met with negative and mild reactions following project's controversial legacy
Yep. Absurd and disappointing. Horgan is worthy of something being named after him, but not that particular thing.Like the astonishignly ironically named 'Dam John Horgan'![]()

The problem will still remain crown land being handed over in mass without any thought or consideration for the public![]()

What is the significance of her winning?Looks like KLF has won the BC Conservative leadership.
What is the significance of her winning?
Ugh. If ever the province of British Columbia needs a rational, reasonably moderate Conservative Party to simply focus hard on the brass tacks of provincial economics, it’s now.Based on what I’ve been hearing, moderates will leave, i.e. Eby wins again.

She's no Amor de Cosmos but then, who is?
She'll get the 'faith vote' out, I'm sure:
Natural resources / pipeline: “Our natural resources are God-given resources. I didn’t put copper in the ground. He did. It’s there for us to use and give us prosperity. And we can do it in environmentally friendly and sustainable ways. But we cannot leave it where people invest all kinds of money and they wait years and years and years for some sort of approval to take the next step. . . . We need that pipeline, that Canadian pipeline.”

This is never a good look for a BC political leader... from last year, mainly about her husband who is a sitting MLA (she is not - speculation about him giving up his seat for her):
There was a time in Canadian politics when past racist, homophobic or sexist comments would have likely resulted in candidates being dropped or rejected by voters — especially in a riding as diverse as South Surrey, where 36 per cent of the population is a visible minority, according to the 2021 census. But with the rise of far-right rhetoric and a pushing of boundaries on acceptable speech, that’s no longer the case.
