It's refreshing to see how smooth this project appears to be going, at least what is public facing. I look forward to getting my hands on one, hoping soon. They are testing different sights, one of the objectives of the trial is to collect info on feature of the various sight.

12 O'clock is unnatural as fuck and counter intuitive when under stress (no one stick their neck out further while getting shot).
I'm a proud partaker of mentality the only fair fight is the one you win...Use a Martini like a gentleman.
I've had one of them with five rounds for 60 years. Never fired it.Use a Martini like a gentleman.
Managed to confirm the Optics being trialed. Interestingly the Optics being trialed are NOT the Optic of the actual Optic that will be selected. The optics are merely to expose the trial participants to fixed vs variable optics. Interestingly as well the CAF is developing its own proprietary reticle that will be part of a separate trial. That reticle is currently in testing/development with an Industry OEM.

I'll keep that in mind.If you ever want to rehome it, let me know!

I hate to say it but it, and my K98, were both wrapped up for storage when I left Shilo in 2006 and I haven't looked at them since.
I'll have to give them a look over one of these days.

I dislike seeing soldiers having installed modern 2 point adjustable slings on their rifles, only to then not wear them properly and have them swing around like a pendulum below the gun. Especially annoying when they are specifically shooting at CQB distances.
On the optics I posted this quite a while back. It’s the Burris with a FastFire at the 12 O’clock I believe.
Interestingly like @KevinB noted in the 3 RCR trial pictures posted, almost no one seems to be locking the CTR stocks. I bet it’s not in the program of instruction for this rifle trial.
Man I just remembered that garbage ‘patrol sling’ we had for a while. Forgot how much that sucked. A good adjustable two point is where it’s at. Though for some reason a lot of cops like the one point setup and look at me weird when I set mine up two point.Line Infantry don't need fancy slings.

So when do you put on the hybrid shirt? What is the allotted time frame from donning and doffing fighting order to having to change your shirt? Do you expect soldiers to always carry a tee shirt and their cad pat top? It’s all very very silly. These are some very, very lucky reservists to test the c8a4. The rifle looks clean as hell. What kind of sights are those? If those are the selected sights and the cat is now out of the bag, can it be confirmed they'll go to production?
Also, pet peeve time of mine...I hate seeing OTW shirts without armour haha.
Picked up an old Mossberg 183 .410 at auction a few weeks back. Fun gun with 3"ers, but 2.5's are bitch to load.Recently I have developed a weird fascination for bolt action shot guns.
There is something about their simplicity. And I have always preferred wood and metal.

Let me know how it goes, I've found that the follower is "tippy" and temperamental without full length shells pushing down uniformly. Rocks one end down without getting the high end low enough for the bolt to pass over.Funny I just picked on of those up too!
Haven't taken it out yet.
Proper slings allow you to do tasks without needing to out your weapon down or stick it somewhere stupid.Line Infantry don't need fancy slings.
