In this day and age it should just be the standard.
Identification can be verified digitally and backup by biometrics
All intake information should be easily entered electronically - either by login from home, or a tablet at a recruiting center.
Medical - a list of accredited providers in the area should be available - and a medical scheduled and linked to the application.
Testing -- well - here is the DOD website

Recruiting shouldn't be hard

I Know Right Schitts Creek GIF by CBC

Call me crazy but a recruiting office located in a mall, like any number of other businesses, might attract a few more inquiries than where it is now - in the middle of a downtown business district where few of the locals are interested or eligible, and no one is likely to see it because : work from home.

If the CAF wants to attract people it needs to believe that they really have something good to offer kids, as opposed to being embarrassed/ afraid to engage with the public because of a lack of corporate self-esteem.
It should be criminal for recruiting offices to be downtown in some non-descript federal building. The mall is the place to be!

My million dollar idea would be mandating every Service Canada Office display recruiting material, as well as maintain the ability to process applications through to the nearest CFRC.

According to their website, " 97% of Canadians live with 50kms of a Service Canada office" and they process admin for multiple departments as is.

They also conveniently have a larger presence in malls across the country 😉

If only we had 100+ facilities owned across the country...

Wait - what if we force every armoury to surrender an office for CAF recruiting, instead of having 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 messes?

We used to go to service Canada sites in the outskirts of Ottawa once a month and always stocked their stuff with application packages and brochures. A recruiter would sit there for the day for walk ins. And it was advertised when we would be there. We did buckingham, Hawkesbury, Cornwall etc etc

Not sure if that is still done.

If you had been to a reserve armoury in the past decade, you'd know there is one per building, sometimes more depending the function of the building. Some will even have rudimentary processing centres like Minto in Wpg. and at least out West, they're in contact with the CFRCs and will direct applicants in the right direction.

Theres enough stuff to crap on reservists already, this ain't one of them haha.

My point was less about crapping on the Reserves or finding more and better ways to be piss poor doing whatever CFRCs are or aren't doing.

I was thinking more about linking in with a federal service Canadians know and access for everything else; that could and should be an entry point for our department's applicants.

The CAF systemically has shown how badly we suck at processing HR/Recruiting stuff for decades, any outside solution should be investigated with fervor and haste.

I agree 100%

I have visited a non zero number of them. Some may well have CAF recruiting spaces; many other have unit recruiting spaces (which are not the same).
