Domestic and Arctic Mobility Enhancement Project

Im not so sure. The Nordic countries use them in spades to this day and so do the Americans. Especially since its unarmed and unarmoured, Im not sure theres much tech to add.
The BvS210 is lightly armoured and there are many variants that have been designed, some in use such as mortars, EW, air defence, CP, recovery.

My concern is Canada buys into the BvS210 NOW, we get it in 3-8 years and by that point, way behind the curve. We have a defence procurement agency now that was supposed to solve issues like this.

Have BAE setup a plant -- have it build BSV’s, as well as CV-90, Bradley whatever IFV that BAE makes that the CA wants.

Depends. I would hope Canada is at least looking at the new TrackX vehicle and considering it, but apparently not. Our 1980 procurement system doesn't work for modern warfare in my opinion.

Thats part of my point. The reality of modern war is a lot more freaking real. Back when they started on this project (unless I am mistaken), it was basically lets get some transport to boot the troops around in the arctic and wave the flag. Thats about how serious the government took arctic sovereignty.

We have seen China advancing its tech a lot more and flexing its muscle, including in the arctic, even though Russia is pre-occupied, they are a very serious arctic threat. Drone warfare makes it very easy to challenge our northern sovereignty.

In warfare, one must be able to adapt and do so quickly as the situation evolves. Sitting around and waiting for bureaucrats to figure shit out (like watching the Ents in Lord of the rings decide they would go to war) while we live in a world where there is so many hot spots, is tough to watch.

Our procurement reflects the Canadian attitude towards defence, war and military in general. I thought the new defence procurement agency would make a real change, but nope.

i think as much as anything its a function of how long it takes the procurement to move along through the process. If we could speed that up
