Hey I just have a few questions. I am planning on joining the Reg forces as infantry soldier.
How long does it take after you submit your application untill you go for the tests and interviews?
How much notice do they give you when they have the dates set for your interviews?
I am in Australia right now and was wondering if it would be possible to send in my application so I can get the waiting process underway.
I will be back in Canada in about 2 months, but If I get enough notice about the interviews I could come back sooner. So basically could I send my application in now so I have less of a wait when I get home or do I have to be in Canada to do it?
Thank you for any help.
Dustin

Your guess is about as good as anybody elses. Whenever they have "time" to assess your application and schedule you in for the appropriate testing. I'd say from 2 weeks to 2 months... but as  I said, that's just my guess.

Cheers

SharkBait...

There doesn't seem to be a set amount of time for anything to happen at any stage of the recruiting process. For some (it seems because of medical issues, background checks and/or trade choices) the process can take time, but that's usually further on in the process. For some everything moves rather quickly.

Have a look at this thread. http://army.ca/forums/threads/13064.0.html It should give you some idea of what to expect.

First of all, it doesn't matter when you send in your application becasuse you won't be booked for anything until you are back in Canada and secondly, if you are in Australia on your own (not there because of your parents) for work, university or vacation (>six months) then you will be booked only for your CFAT and if you pass that a background check will be conducted and if that comes back OK a pre-enrolment security assessment will be conducted (you haven't been in Canada for the last ten years) and that will take a very long time.

not necessarily. you will most likely do your MOC at a land force training area (if you are army of course), the land force training area your unit uses. (mine is meaford).

Usually it doesn't take too much time, it took a week for me. But as you live in Australia, it can become very complicated as the security clearance may take from 6 month to 2 years.. awwhhh

Good luck  :warstory:
