I don't know why I didn't realize this before now, but this really starting to feel like just the Americans version of the vaunted "3 day special military operation".

The challenge is going to be getting arms and armed Iranians into the country. It easy to say "go back and fight" But if going back means your arrested at the airport, then shot, you not achieved much.

But form a Iranian legion and use them to start taking and holding the islands would be a start.

How long term do you want to make this war? I don't think that letting this go on indefinitely without clear objectives is a good idea. However, ending this and leaving whatever is left of the regime in power may have very significant Repercussions in the long run, given how many Iranian child will now grow up missing a parent due to American/Israeli airstrikes. The propaganda for the next generation can write itself.

How long term do you want to make this war? I don't think that letting this go on indefinitely without clear objectives is a good idea. Better to start recruiting Iranians now and getting them some training, arms and getting them into the country. I dearly want the regime to come apart under it's own rot. But if that does not happen, then arming resistance groups and forming units who can use drones and call in airstrikes might be a good idea.
