Iran Super Thread- Merged

All the more reason for everyone else to avoid it like the plague. Last thing anyone needs is to get tied up in another forever war for a decade or two again.
so how does the rest of the world clear the strait without supporting the U.S. actions? And it is becoming increasingly clear that other nations are going to have to do something as their economies can't survive without fuel.

US actions closed the strait to begin with.

I think that other nations want them accountable for that.

The US could start by removing tariffs and taking a bit more of a conciliatory tone with those it wants to come rescue them.

Other nations will just cut a deal with Iran and pay the toll to get their ships through.

Western world depends on oil. Letting "Death to America/Death to the West" Iran control the world's oil flow isn't a great idea. We need to either get oil without Iran as the middle man, or, remove them as the middle man.

What we need to do and what we're willing to do are two different things.

This is how far out of touch with reality Trump and his cabinet is right now.

Trump says Iran let 10 oil ships through Strait of Hormuz as a 'present' to U.S.
Trump says Iran let 10 oil ships through Strait of Hormuz as a 'present' to U.S.

Trump says that Iran ‘gave the US a gift of 10 oil tankers’ going through the strait of Hormuz this WEEK.
As a point of reference over 150 ships A DAY go through there, over just over 1,000 ships a week.
Allowing 10 to go through is 1% of tie weekly total.

EDIT: Unreal that the reporter decides NOT to give any reference as to how many ships typically cross the strait daily or weekly. The reporter makes an obvious choice to not report on that to put context to the number of 10 ships.
THAT's the "Very Big Present" worth "a tremendous amount of money" that Iran gave to Trump??? Letting tankers supplying oil to non-US aligned nations pass through the Straits while still preventing US-allied ships to go through? Were they containing Iranian oil which would help fund the Iranian regime? Wow...this is some wild 4-D chess that Trump is playing!
