It's no secret that India has had a serious rape problem for years. Fairly recently, India was contemplating bringing back the death penalty for those convicted of rape under certain circumstances - and I think we are all familiar with news stories of girls being gang raped on busses & whatnot.

It's funny that they try to say it's Pakistan who has a rapist problem. I imagine they both do.

In terms of their media, I do find their media coverage of world issues to be less biased than ours

Nothing tells our major allies and 5 Eyes partners we take this stuff seriously than allowing a group widely designated as a terrorist group to host a conference on our soil...

And to have the subject be "the defeat of non-Muslim countries" is just icing on the cake

I'm hoping that CSIS & RCMP have coordinated with other 5 Eyes nations, and we are allowing this conference to happen due to the valuable and actionable intelligence it will yield.

I just took a glance at the Conference website and it seems pretty overt (at least to me) about its hatred of the West and bringing the caliphate to fruition. I’m surprised that the federal and provincial governments are allowing it. Come to think of it, maybe I shouldn’t be surprised that they’re allowed to spew such venom and possibly recruit future terrorists in our own backyard. I’m sure that if a similar Christian conference were to be held here on on how to triumph over Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism, the government would ban it very quickly.

I'm surprised I hadn't heard that about Sweden's rape situation, but the situation itself doesn't really surprize me..

I'm disturbingly surprised that I hadn't heard about their bombing situation, and that situation is extremely surprising to me.

Anybody else heard about or read about bombs going off in Sweden anywhere in the Canadian media lately? I haven't heard a peep!!

tried a search for Sweden and bombing articles on the CBC and on CTV came up with only a couple of puff articles from 2023. Nothing that would grab your attention
