Looks like a terrorism plot targeting the Ottawa Jewish community has been foiled with one youth arrested and facing charges. Charges are linked to instructing someone else relating to explosives. Police CBRNE team was called out (catch-all term encompassing conventional police bomb squad).

EDIT TO ADD: Interesting to see the specific shoutout to CSIS on this one. That suggests cooperation between intelligence and police was solid.

Looks like additional charges laid in the Ottawa case. The same youth suspect is also now accused of one count of facilitating a terrorist activity, and two counts of possession explosives. Source is Mackenzie Grey with Global.

Follow up from late 2023: convictions on several terrorism offended for a youth arrested in a bomb plot targeting Jews in Ottawa a few years ago. The second accused’s trial starts tomorrow.
