Joe Rogan and Pierre Poilievre interview

Fair observation. Based on my long association with this forum, I tend to jump quickly on what I see as bad faith posting. That is because I care about the quality of the discussion here, as I have found the discussion informative , occasionally illuminating, and often humorous over the last 20 years plus.

I am not chasing individuals. I am pointing out less productive behaviours, which seem to have increased over the last few years.

Having said that, you are right that this is unhealthy, and I understand that - my protestations notwithstanding - it may appear that I target individuals, even if that is not my intent.

I also appreciate your observations. I need to check my own biases, as well as my own behaviours. I could certainly stand to be less quick off the mark, as well as being gentler in my messaging.

Thanks!

Pierre does it again, well done!

Just wrapping this up now.

I think it's obvious that either him or Jenni Byrne fucked up the last campaign and should have let this PP out.

The sad part is the oldies who are hoarding their riches and cowering over the Orange man won't listen to these.

Just admit you all fell for the psy ops campaign
Is that the psy op/MSM IO that gave Team Blue such a big lead in polling for many months until they got their with and PMJT GTFO’ed?

I'll be upfront on the whole PP issue. I voted Conservative in the last three elections but did vote for JT in 2015 as the Conservatives were stale by that point and the country needed a change (but unfortunately didn't get the right kind of change). That being said I wasn't a PP fan and felt that the Conservative Party went the wrong direction in picking their leader.

I listened to the full Joe Rogan interview but haven't had a chance to watch the 2nd link yet. I thought the tone PP struck during the interview was definitely an improvement over what we saw in the lead up to the last election. That being said I felt it was a bit of a softball interview...more of a chat about MMA and health issues with some politics thrown in. Definite improvement but not enough for me to be convinced yet that he's the right leader to face Carney.

I'll watch the 2nd interview and try to keep an open mind about him, but as of now I still think the Conservatives should find a new leader before the next election. The bloom will inevitably come off Carney's rose (as it does with every government since none can ever deliver on everything that people expect) and I can't help but feel that the Conservatives might be better prepared under a different leader.

I was contacted by the Conservatives for a donation shortly after the last election. I asked the guy on the phone why Jenni was
still around after losing four elections but Telford and Butts moved on after winning four. Umm aaah gee that's a god point.
They have not phoned back.

Pierre does it again, well done!

I might actually have voted for him IF he had been this person.

Same dude he has always been. Just presented differently. I admit Jenni Byrne did him no favours. Now, go back and look at the lesser known CANADIAN podcast interviews he did during the election 2025 campaign, same style, same Pierre. However many in this nation were rabid with TDS and bought the MSM slander campaign against Pierre.

No. He has learned from his past performance and adjusted how he interacts and communicates.

Don’t blame Jenni Byrne, he accepted whatever advice she gave, that’s on him.

Your point that this man existed last year during the campaign (I disagree) as evidenced by the more obscure social media space and that the majority of the voting citizenry only saw him verbing the (Trudeau-related) noun a day late and a penny short in fact confirms that he didn’t have his shizzle wired tightly during the campaign.

Ummm, thats not it all. He is the same guy as a year ago. He is in his mid 40s. Just admit you all fell for the psy ops campaign

You continue to say this. I don’t buy it for a second. He was off his campaign game without question.

I tried several times to engage through his constituency office in the years prior to the election and nothing back at all. An 11th hour try by one of his campaigners coming by my house (two blocks over from PP’s [pre-Stornaway] house) with a bunch of non-answers to my questions as to why he was still on Trudeau and not focusing on Carney’s platform. He was committed to staying on a stale message, that he stole defeat from the jaws of victory.

the difference standards of criticism many people here have CPC vs LPC.

This is a very accurate observation here and other platforms.

salivating at the opportunity to disagree with him and flex your own intellectual muscle is an unhealthy lifestyle choice.

I mean, let's be real. If Poilievre was posting here he'd call ArmyRick aggressive lol

The CPC had a leadership review at end January. The Party claims 95% participation from party members. Pierre garnered 87.4% of that vote. I'll take those numbers over individual opinion.
