And on that 51st state thing?

Would LOVE to see a regional breakdown of this one, though - nothing I could find on AR's site.
* - How many survey respondents know how little leverage Canada has?

Easy solution is to just have anyone wanting that just move south. They might want to hurry though as the border is about to get tighter.

Interesting survey.

-More Canadians agree the flow of drugs from Can to US is a huge problem - check
-More Canadians agree Canada needs to do more to secure border with US - check
-More Canadians want to hit NATO spending target - check

Trump has called for all this, he is demanding what more Canadians agree with.

Absolutely.

We should for sure act on all of that.

Not sure how that applies to the 51st statehood stuff which in the end is really dumb but a good troll but I’m all for people that dont like it here to go find greener pastures.

If it was that easy a lot of us would have.

I've looked into it.
Has the process dissuaded you? What part of it is the show stopper?

A lot already do. From my understanding if you have the right skill set and can contribute getting that green card is not impossible.

Some close family of mine did that decades ago a started a hose manufacturing company. Green cards then citizenship.

Like anything there are hoops to jump through.

My understanding is the US wants to slow immigration down so maybe it’s a bit harder at this time.

we suffer some sort of National Unity Event which will more than likely be Québec succession. This then causes other simmering issues to rise to the surface with other successionist movements forming in Western Canada.
Funny. When Harper was running the shop and the economy was you know, actually working, it seems separatist talk simmers down. In 2011, the Bloc went from 47 seats down to 4 and in 2015 they barely regained 6 seats (10 toal, hardly a rebound).

Then we get 4 years of Disastrous Prime Minister Trudeau and the Bloc grows to 32 seats from 10 (mmmmm, interesting). Then in 2021, they held that 32 seats. They are posed to become the opposition. Why? Because everything Trudeau touches from economy to immigration to Gun laws to defence (and everything in between) is a total train wreck. No, he is the Political Chernobyl.

Cue the Trudeau defenders to explain in some lengthy BS how its not Trudeau's fault or its not that bad (and then pretend they don't support Trudeau)

Perhaps... sometimes things happen we never saw coming.
It reminds me of 9/11. Had you said in July 2001 that the west would be embroiled in a twenty year bloody insurgency war in Afghanistan, I think most people would have told you to stop drinking and go home.

Then look what happens.

When you think the unlikely is not going to happen, and thus FAIL to plan a contingency, it will bite you in the ass. Some people here would be wise to learn from history. like @Remius

It is fascinating how he managed to take a Liberal majority to possibly not even being the opposition after the next election.

Biggest mistake he made was bill c-75. That one bill has been disastrous for Canada and has resulted in the drastic increase in crime which we have sadly grown indifferent to.

Just need a refresher, which one was Bill C75? Is that the bail for all?

But the US has a greater risk of fracturing before it ever annexes Canada as a territory.

Perhaps sooner than later. Or, perhaps not. Political opinions may vary.

What Rage?
Misplaced rage.

I comment that I’m not really worried about a fantasy of having Canada annexed by the US and you go on another Trudeau rant.

I get it. You’re angry but your anger is misplaced.

I’ve already told you that I am unlikely to vote for the guy and I didn’t vote for hi last time either. That doesn’t mean I like the alternative and that clearly upsets you.
