Well, best to get used to it.

Climate change was predicted to cause hotter, drier summers and increased wildfire risks.

We will all need to adapt as this will not be getting any better. Might fluctuate from season to season, but on a whole, it's going to get a whole lot worse.
If only someone had done something about climate change a decade and a half ago. The youth like me will inherit this problem. Cest la vie.

Frankly, Im glad the union is conducting a wildcat strike. I have no stake in the fight but I have found it troubling how governments seem to increasingly fond of using back to work legislation. Hopefully the court challenge ends up restricting what constitutes an "essential service". Flying my drunk ass to the Bahamas for a holiday isn't essential.

The more governments seek to restrict peoples right to strike and collectively bargain the less likely people will play within the rules. Striking started out as illegal with violent consequences for those in violation historically.

It also turned out to be necessary as it brought a end to the miserable dangerous worksites of the 1800s-1900s. Now with the increase in wage gaps, decrease in standards of living well corporate overlords are living much better lives shows how important it all is.

No real details yet but a tentative agreement has been reached and work is to resume today.

I have to wonder how much the Labour minister’s comments yesterday about a probe into closing the gaps in the Canada Labour Code had to do with the sudden shift from the employer. I’ll definitely be interested to see details.

Well that was unexpected. Bravo to the Union for pulling it off.

"Appearance of conflict of interference."

Mulcair: Government "created an unbelievable mess" with Air Canada return to work order

I remember going to a Mulcair rally in 2015. In Edmonton. Where he talked about getting rid of the oil industry. And when he waited for applause and got a meer scattering of what could be considered applause.

The man has the political instincts of a rock.

Not surprised to see this aged like milk left outside on a hot summer day.

Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but it seems we are slapping a new tariff on...ourselves??

Industry doesn't sound too happy about this from what I've read in the article. Municipalities won't be too happy either.

That's the beautiful thing about tariffs.

They are indeed a tax on the one who levies the tariff. Especially the blanket ones.

All those big beautiful tariffs trump is so fond of. Big beautiful taxes on American importers, which get passed on to the consumer.

Same for our counter tariffs. Big ole tax on Canadian importers.

It's why countries should not get into trade wars.
