I would love to be able to hop on a train after work in Edmonton, have dinner in Calgary, watch the Oilers crush the Flames, then get back to bed in Edmonton.

Modern high speed rail trains hit 300 kph handily enough. You could easily spend an hour in traffic and parking going to an NHL game in your own city.

Under the gossamer veil of 'nation building', you would think Alberta would have chosen a Calgary-Edmonton HSR/HFR project rather than a tourist train to a destination that is already horribly overcrowded.

The idea is to get less cars into Banff with this with a fixed ticket price of around $30-$35, It would travel between calgary and Banff, eventually being extended to Lake Louise, and Jasper, then loop over to Edmonton. I agree though HSR would be a better project

To Trudeau's credit he only attended QP 44% of the time but he always answered MP questions and it doesn't look like he's ever left half way through.

Trudeau did leave partly thru QP, and more than once.

The PM is expected to attend Question Period when not out of town or when hosting an event that would require them to be away, if I understand that correctly.

They are just another MP
(not meant in a dismissive way) who just so happens to be selected (elected from within the party) to be party leader. But he is expected to attend Question Period and to be there to represent the government being asked questions from the other parties.



He was also infamous (and loathed) because he rarely ever actually answered any questions.

Sure, he would acknowledge questions. But he & Freeland were infamous for their non-answers and word salad answers, and were well known for evading clear, direct answers.

The Canadian dollar jumped 0.83 per cent to 72.23 cents U.S. on Friday afternoon from Thursday’s close of 71.64 cents U.S. in response to the better-than-expected numbers.
