So you think Carney goes with the 13 percent wanting just the F35 and ignores 72 percent wanting some form of Gripen purchase?i think thats more pragmatic than dancing to the piper
Okay.

Ofcourse he's going to say he won't sign a deal that is not in our interests...he's the PM for crying out loud lolAmerica seems to be the only one Carney cant get a deal from, and he has stated he wont sign a deal thats not in our interest. Tells me america is trying to work us over rather then give us a fair deal.
Carney goes to Europe. He gets deals done.Ofcourse he's going to say he won't sign a deal that is not in our interests...he's the PM for crying out loud lol
He's SUPPOSED to say stuff like that. We pay him a metric shit ton of money to say stuff like that!
He'd be a bad Prime Minister if he said anything BUT that!
Him saying he won't sign a deal that isn't in our interest doesn't necessarily mean America isn't trying to offer us a fair deal...
Although I doubt they are. Why would they??
...
The whole nature of negotiations is that each side starts off with some requests/wants that seem unfair or unrealistic to the other, and in theory both sides agree to something reasonably fair somewhere in the middle.
We shouldn't expect them to offer us fair deal. Being extremely close allies & friends for more than a century should afford us to not be presented with unreasonable nonsense though...

Go with the voters.
The UK has a mixed fleet. So does the USA.An Airforce that emulates Brazil, Czech Republic, Hungary, South Africa, and Thailand is way better than emulating weak countries like the US, UK, Japan, and Australia.
Did you watch Jake Paul's recent boxing match with Anthony Joshua? Why is negotiations easier with everyone else?
Just the last 10 seconds. On repeat.Did you watch Jake Paul's recent boxing match with Anthony Joshua?
Yup.i think thats more pragmatic
How many Gripens do US and UK have? The UK has a mixed fleet. So does the USA.
Bad example.
I think he orders enough F35 to keep things going no more no less and not the whole 65 or 88 in one goSo you think Carney goes with the 13 percent wanting just the F35 and ignores 72 percent wanting some form of Gripen purchase?
Okay.
You're right. Lets buy the Eurofighter. How many Gripens do US and UK have?
The US is the Anthony Joshua of negotiations.Just the last 10 seconds. On repeat.
By not getting any deal with anyone and having the rest of the world including Canada run into the arms of China as the more reasonable global partner is winning? The US is the Anthony Joshua of negotiations.
I love democracy.A defense equipment purchase policy off EKOS polls and popularity.

The Eurocanard of choice should be Rafale but the French are no fun to work with apparentlyYou're right. Lets buy the Eurofighter.
Notice how the French have a indigenous airframe, the Brits as well, as well as the German, and Italians. The Eurocanard of choice should be Rafale but the French are no fun to work with apparently
Are you sure about that?By not getting any deal with anyone
i agree but at this stage i question whether Trump would veto the Gripen purchaseNotice how the French have a indigenous airframe, the Brits as well, as well as the German, and Italians.
Even when they buy the F35, they support homegrown fighter capacity.
We don't have that. We could have that. Which is why jarnhamar is being intentionally obtuse. The Gripen isn't just about the airframe but having a domestic stake in an fighter aircraft.
When he asks how many Gripens the Brits have he's ignoring the Brits investing in the Eurofighter and running that fleet in order to support their own (via europe) fighter
Trump puts tariffs. Are you sure about that?
Like, no deals with China? Maybe around November 2025?
