I am not sure what more the CPC needs to be told to get them (us) to realize they need a leadership change.

PMMC and LPC are essentially running a CPC Gov. Minus firearms, which they don't seem to have public backing on.

I guess the trouble is who else is there ?

Yup. Although if PP were to not be leader anymore for whatever reason, I can't see why contenders wouldn't race forward.

Right now, even though there's some strong players in the caucus (Michael Chong & Michelle Rempel Garner, to name just a few) - not to mention outside of caucus if they thought they could make a go of it - it still seems to be mostly PP as the flag bearer/lightning rod.

I don't know about that Altair. The "you had a choice" line by Mulroney had quite an impact. But addressing comments from above, I don't understand why everyone is gunning for PP. Although he isn't in power it seems that all lot of his objections are being translated into government actions albeit he isn't getting credit. From my viewpoint, I care less about whose picture is on the wall and more about the tone of the directives emanating from OW and so far they are distinctly blue with only a tinge of red. Am I missing something?

It certainly did, but that was a line in a debate, not a stand alone speech.

PP had a choice.

Work together with the LPC to get things done. He could then reasonably claim credit for such things. He decided to be obstructionist and not work with the LPC. The LPC swoop in and steal his policy ideas. The LPC claim full credit.

And on the surface of it, PP is helping them in that regard. He will say something like not far enough, or play games in committees or call a vote trying to expose divisions in the LPC. Meanwhile Carney is hanging out with Moe and Doug Ford, conservatives if I remember correctly.

It also scares progressives. Because if Carney is more or less a red tory, and PP is saying he's not doing enough, progressives are thinking to themselves, "well damn, how much further would PP go is he isn't on board with Carney?"

It's telling from that poll that the real collapse in support is from the BQ and NDP. PP is doing himself no favours.

I hope he stays on as leader of the CPC.
