Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

Hmmmm....

'it wasn't just one thing'

By crossing the floor to the Liberals and helping them toward getting a majority she will be in a much better place to ensure public servants are forced to take much-needed indigenous awareness training from the sole-sourced company she incidentally stands to benefit from monetarily.

What I really don't get is the people that are rubbing their hands with glee at the thought of the impending failure of the Carney government.

I voted Conservative in the election. But the last thing I want is for the sitting government (of whatever party) to fail the people of Canada.

So many people looking at the trade announcements and MOU's being announced are saying things like "yeah, but those are just announcements...nothing will actually come from them then Canadians will turn on Carney and then we'll beat him".

It's like they'd rather see the country suffer rather than see their political opponent succeed. Demonstrates the sad state of political discourse these days.

I think you are under estimating the amount damage of and depth of polarization the LPC has done to this country. I also think we underestimate how many people are hold their noses and voting for or throwing their weight behind Carney.

I think this fall you will see the US Gov start to reshape. And I think you will see the end of the beginning of this Canadian Gov.

People will be expecting results from Technocrat Daddy soon.

Like the announcements that are coming tomorrow?

And here they come.

BYD, Chery, and Geely.

I do believe this was one of the main desired outcomes from our recent canola deal with China, it might pay off.

In any other set of circumstances, that's simply called corruption. Blatant corruption.

Mandatory training for ALL government workers, probably at $80 to $100 a head...

Provided by a company she started up on her own & probably works alone. (Unless there is a huge demand for this kind of training outside of government that I'm just totally unaware of...)

...

Directing government policy to be such that financially benefits her personally...she'll fit right in with LPC.

She already does.

I truly think a big problem for PMMC will be the party he ran for and the MPs around him.

And traditionally, cabinet ministers would resign and stand for by-election upon appointment to cabinet, so this concept isn't totally unprecedented.

Not quite exact. They didn't do it by tradition, they did it as a matter of law. It was called Independence of Parliament Act, which was repealed in the early 1970's under Pearson for the 'official reason" that ministers were always re-elected so it was a waste. That is about the same time they started to introduce nomination of party leaders by American style conventions as opposed to selection by caucus.

Guess who the Parliament's independence was supposed to be protected from: the executive branch. In those days, MP's knew that their role, regardless of party affiliation, was to represent their constituencies in scrutinizing the executive and keeping it from excesses by control of the budget in particular. Therefore, once elected to represent the people in watching the government, it made sense, if selected for ministerial functions, that you would have to be re-elected by the same people to show they were OK with the change of function.

Moreover, in those days, party affiliation was just that, an affiliation. That is you presented yourself to the public as leaning towards a given party's view of the world, but not exclusively and party's were not electoral machine requiring obedience in those days. In a given riding, at the time of elections, you could have two or more candidates who claimed affiliation to the same party standing for Parliament, so character and popularity of the candidate mattered.

Based on working with someone connected to a person who was in the Middle East when the war kicked-off, it was the CAF that dropped the ball on this. There is no way the PM is tracking where every CAF member outside of Canada is at all times. The CAF seems to have failed to consider that there was a chance of Iran attacking other countries, and failed to pull people out where they could.

I would hope the PM has better things to do than approve every CFTPO.

Having said that
