The only poll that counts is on election day. That may sound trite but I am still waiting for the deliveries and not the speeches. As I wrote earlier, it has been a year and apart from travel miles and signed pieces of paper I haven't seen any deliverables actually in play. There are no pipelines, indigenous are still boiling water and taking possession of more and more of downtown VR without any further oil reaching the coast on either side. The NFLD development owes nothing to Carney and Quebec is still blocking everything proposed eastbound. Companies are still paying the industrial carbon tax. If there is no action on any of the major issues within a year it isn't going to happen and the votes will start going back the other wayThe trend continues with Nanos. This puts the CPC 3% away from their base starting to erode.
Pragmatism seems to be a key feature politicians in Canada should have.

Carney's popularity and the LPC staying power is 50% related to #ElbowsUp and #OrangeManBad and 50% related to the socialist bent of this Country. It has nothing to do with Pollievre.
By all metrics, Canada isn't doing particularly well, but.... the majority don't really seem to care. Especially if they continue to get their entitlements and Government handouts.
Canadians have already rejected the Con platform in 2014 when they booted Harper out of office. The message hasn't really changed since then either. The Cons aren't offering anything the average Canadian wants.

if they are like me, they only want the country to succeed. I am hoping against hope that are much more than promises coming as a result of Carney taking office. Discussions elsewhere seem to bear out that thought. The 50% for Carney isn't so much anti-Pierre as it is in favour of what he has said he will do. I want to see shovels in the ground, construction centred on developing places like Churchill to ship our produce out, pipelines being laid and factories/refineries being built to process all of our resources. All these things Carney has promised now is the time to start delivering and to stop promising.

Never say never, anything is possible, I am loving the conservatives melting down over this even further. Yet laugh because some of those barking the loudest would lose their seats at current polling if an election was called.
right now this is the best thing that can happen. Carney has his majority and there is no need for an election. Government can continue unhindered. The libs have already based many of their actions on "conservative" concepts. If the cons can only concentrate on improving rather than opposing they should be able to regain their support when the liberals don't deliver as well as their rhetoric says they will.

I don't like it. A thin LPC majority shifts influence from a hypothetical CPC willing to play ball and gives it to the malcontents/zealots within the LPC tent, which encourages the CPC to lean harder into oppositional theatre rather than collaboration.
