Why do you call it leadership failure? Each crossing was preceded by comments totally opposed to the liberal government. What was the enticement that caused them to seek a seat on the other side? And what was PP to offer to maintain their loyalty. As the old joke says; We have already determined what you are madame, we are simply haggling over the price. In fact the liberals were quite blatant about pursuing other members of the opposition.

gee. now you won't even believe the machine. You are in deep trouble if the power ever fails. I never said anything about lending money I wrote exclusively about the advise he would probably have given with regards to the direction leadership was heading and the costs involved. I based that upon known facts regarding his predilection for things green and I tried to do it without being nasty. I sure would hate to be in your command. I am done.

It's just desperation and lack of material. Poilievre hasn't sexually assaulted anyone, hasn't painted himself black and pretended to be a monkey, hasn't been caught giving family members jobs, and so on.
No one will similarly ridicule a nurse, police officer, teacher, or secretary for working the same job for 20 years. Plus Canadians choose to give him that job so long.
The "never had a real job" is another classic Poilievre insult, which at the centre of it, means we're paying 338 people $200k+ a year for 'not a real job'.

Cybersecurity researchers have disclosed details of a new China-aligned espionage campaign targeting government and defense sectors across South, East, and Southeast Asia, along with one European government belonging to NATO.
Trend Micro has attributed the activity to a threat activity cluster it tracks under the temporary designation SHADOW-EARTH-053. The adversarial collective is assessed to be active since at least December 2024, while sharing some level of network overlap with CL-STA-0049, Earth Alux, and REF7707.
"The group exploits N-day vulnerabilities in internet-facing Microsoft Exchange and Internet Information Services (IIS) servers (e.g., ProxyLogon chain), then deploys web shells (Godzilla) for persistent access and stages ShadowPad implants via DLL sideloading of legitimate signed executables," security researchers Daniel Lunghi and Lucas Silva said in an analysis.
Targets of the campaigns include Pakistan, Thailand, Malaysia, India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and Taiwan. The lone European country that features in the threat actor's victimology footprint is Poland.
The cybersecurity vendor said it observed nearly half the SHADOW-EARTH-053 targets, particularly those in Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Myanmar, also compromised earlier by a related intrusion set dubbed SHADOW-EARTH-054, although no evidence of direct operational coordination has been observed.

Why was their a sudden need for so much secrecy? What are they hiding? Where is the accountability and transparency?

So yes, more than a few of us follow parliamentary committees closely. If CBC showed even 10 minutes of parliamentary committee and what happens, I think the Liberals would suffer a real blow.

Ill just coin a new term here. We are moving away from the honeymoon period into the steady marriage period.
Carney could still mess up the marriage but until such a time, i think we are at the end of the beginning. Many politicians maintain their popularity over the course of a full term. Doug Ford comes to mind. Francois Legault as well.
Eventually what goes up must come down, but there is nothing saying it has to happen this term.
Especially since carney has his trump card to play until 2028. Any problems can be blamed on trump, any successes pinned as extraordinary in the face of trump.

Your kidding right? I voted for him in 2018 and 2025, and from most I know, in the beginning he was elected because people were truly fed up with Kathleen Wynne and almost immediately he was pissing just about everyone off. He kept getting elected because the alternatives were simply terrible.
So starts off right away with putting a bunch of committees into secrecy? Even Political Pro Liberal pundit Chantal Hebert said this was stupid.
What i think, is he waiting for Trump to do something not popular and he will give another long, big worded speech amounting to nothing that excites Liberal boomers who "think he is so smart"

There are many things i think will break through the Canadian public consciousness, like the ford plane fiasco. But with the Iran war, trade war, Ukrainian war, high gas prices, and trump tweets, i dont think committee shenanigans is that thing.
I think he pulls plug before 2028 and runs while trump is still president.

IF Carney says "see ya" and bails in 2028 (we agree this could happen), I think we will see another Liberal leadership race first and then someone sitting in the chair until spring 2029.
