I've never really known what all these benefit programs are. Well I know what they are but I don't have access to them. Taxes in this Country are ridiculous.

They may have reduced the targets but they sure didn't reduce the numbers as quoted previously. Legalized drugs what a wonderful legacy. It gives MADD a whole new target audience and if that is the best we can come up with for a legacy we would have been much better off without him. Student population number dropping is great. It gives kids who actually live in Canada a chance at a college or university education without having to have an 80% plus average out of H.S. Was in our local hospital today. Well over half of the visible staff are eastern Asian minorities. We have had a form of CCB since just after WW2. They have simply changed the name and increased the amount paid but they have been doing that all along it is no credit to Trudeau. Every time the government has needed to buy votes they have made an adjustment and that is all he did. If you want to give credit for it you need to go back to the 90s and Paul Martin when he was finance minister. My CCB checks and people who smoke legal marijuana say otherwise.
Permanent resident targets were lowered from 500,000 to 380,000.
Temporary foreign worker numbers went from 390k to 208k.
Interaction student numbers dropped from 293k to 115k.
The international student population in canada dropped from 1m to 700k.
Overall, we stopped bringing in many many many people and now we are actively shrinking and will continue to do so. Women have 1.3 kids per woman, that's nowhere near replacement. As more and more people leave and less and less immigrants come in we will start to sink like a stone in terms of population numbers.
Yeah, this is not true.
Explain? They may have reduced the targets but they sure didn't reduce the numbers as quoted previously.
Also means so many less canadians with criminal records with the consequences that come from that. Also frees up policing resources.Legalized drugs what a wonderful legacy. It is, but again, the tradeoff is the economic growth.Student population number dropping is great. It gives kids who actually live in Canada a chance at a college or university education without having to have an 80% plus average out of H.S.
So?Was in our local hospital today. Well over half of the visible staff are eastern Asian minorities.

Poo poo on trudeau all you please, i just know that 20 years from now we will see his CCB in the current form or expanded and legal weed will still be around.Every time the government has needed to buy votes they have made an adjustment and that is all he did. If you want to give credit for it you need to go back to the 90s and Paul Martin when he was finance minister.
Nah.Legacy.
Legacies can be mixed.Nah.
Blight, bane, scourge, generational curse.... Trudeau was a blight on this country. He left it far worse than it was and those problems are enduring.
The numbers that I quoted from Stats Canada don't match the numbers that you quote. Our unemployment rate is 6.9 with 18000 lost jobs in April or does unemployment and welfare count as part of the GDP? If the unemployment rate was less than 5 there would be a valid argument for bringing in more people; especially professionals but with a loss of almost 100000 jobs in the past couple of months there are is no purpose in bringing people in just to put them on the welfare roles. We can't afford it.Explain?
If you took Dangerous Driving out of the criminal code there would be a bunch of young men with no criminal record. So what? Not really a good reason to make something legalAlso means so many less canadians with criminal records with the consequences that come from that. Also frees up policing resources.
Wait until your son is rejected because an individual from India had more cash for the tuition than you do and then went on to a staff position in a hospital or became your family doctor. Then come back and talk to me about how great it is.It is, but again, the tradeoff is the economic growth.
Like hell. What it did do was start disappearing as a family earned more money but its base rate was around 1600.So?
The CCB before trudeau consisted of a lot of tax credits. Which implies, spend money to get money back. Which is really reallly bad when you dont have the money in the first place. So no, the CCB before Trudeau isn't at all the same.
Actually you probably won't see the CCB in its present form if history has any say in the matter. It has been changed on average about every 10 years since its inception and that includes the title.Poo poo on trudeau all you please, i just know that 20 years from now we will see his CCB in the current form or expanded and legal weed will still be around.
Legacy.
I was halfway to writing a response to this but as it progressively got more and more nonsensical I realized that for my own sanity, I'll just leave you to it.The numbers that I quoted from Stats Canada don't match the numbers that you quote. Your information is about 20 years out of date. People haven't been arrested for just simple possession in decades, long before Trudeau came around. Possession is normally used as one of several charges as a "throw everything at the wall and see what sticks" and as a plea deal, and as a discreet way of separating victims of human trafficking from their abusers. Also means so many less canadians with criminal records with the consequences that come from that. Also frees up policing resources.
Probably why we lose a lot of top talent to the US. Salaries and taxes.
Terminators run on 6502s. My youth with an Atari 800 will serve me well. Here it is.

growth is good and the better part of that is they are full-time positions![]()
Canada adds 87,800 jobs in May, far exceeding estimates
Unemployment rate fell to 6.6 per cent during strongest month for job creation since 2024www.theglobeandmail.com
Technical recession, but the economy adds 87k jobs.
The economy doesnt know whats happening.
So what... economy shrinks while jobless rate drops?growth is good and the better part of that is they are full-time positions
I love arguing with AI.From google AI, take with a grain of suspicion from our AI overlords, as well don't be quick to dismiss the word recession.
The broader economy is largely stagnant, the decline was so miniscule that half a percent one way or another and canada isn't in a recession. I read that we imported more gold than usual during that quarter which in and of itself might have moved the numbers enough that pushed canada into recession numbers. (Imports count against gdp)Yes, job numbers can increase during a recession, though it is rare for overall net employment to grow while the broader economy is contracting. A recession is defined by widespread economic decline, but labor markets are complex and can show growth through three main factors
If you read the article, it was stuff like construction, information, culture, recreation jobs, transportation and warehousing along with food services.Jobless Growth vs. Sector Pockets: Recessions hit some industries harder than others. While manufacturing or retail may shed jobs, "recession-proof" sectors like healthcare, public safety, law, and utilities frequently continue hiring because those services remain essential regardless of the economy.
The technical recession just happened, no time between then and now for the government to stimulate the economy to add 87,800 jobs.Government Intervention: If a recession occurs, governments often increase public sector hiring or launch large-scale infrastructure projects to stimulate the economy and create jobs.
The population is shrinking. And most of the gains were in full time work.Population Growth: The workforce naturally grows as new job seekers enter the market. Even with a stagnant or shrinking economy, overall employment numbers may technically tick up if there is a massive surge in specific sector-driven roles or part-time work, creating a situation where both employment and unemployment can rise simultaneously.
