Liberal (Minority/Majority) Government 2025 - ???

My mental stopwatch is still tracking Joly and Champagne. Senior most non-value added cabinet ministers retained…
You would have him ditch the two most popular and prominent MPs from Quebec just before the PQ potentially wins an election in the fall?

I’m not saying they’re on his stopwatch, but if I were were a Blue Grit PM for a day…

He’s probably content with enough controls on them that they don’t don too muchuch damage, but my point was that they are very much past of Trudeau’s legacy…such as it is.

Yeah, cabinets are never about the best people.

Cabibets are about people who are good enough while juggling regional and gender representation.

He needs strong voices in Quebec, especially since his french is basic at best. He already lost SG, he cannot afford to lose Joly or Champagne, at least not until some other Quebec liberals rise to similar levels of prominence.

And thats before the PQ potentially wins this fall. Going into a referendum situation with no name rookie Quebec cabinet ministers at best, those two replaced by others from the ROC at worse is just handing the floor to PSPP.

I agree about Joly. A waste of rations. Worst minister ever.

I’m not sure about Frankie Bubbles. Everything I’ve heard is that he was one of the few half-competent Trudeau ministers and is more blue than red. I could stand to be corrected though.

I think I’ve is bluer than red. I can’t see Carney giving anyone red the FM position.

The only moderately prominent new female MP from QC is Nathalie Provost.

I wonder what happens if the majority of the large projects have progressed to the building phase, we're at 3.5%, and the economy is trucking along, and for some reason the Conservative Party wins the next election. Would they just continue on, or roll back progress made for the sake of doing the opposite the Liberals did.

They would declare victory for everything begin by their predecessors and blame and problems, real or perceived, on their predecessors.

As every political party does.

As every new CO does.

that problem would go away if the two major parties formed a joint group to review acquisitions and deliberately took that group out of the political stream by equal representation with a government minister with the deciding vote as odd man but with no whipped vote permitted.

And they’ll probably cut that spending so they can bring in tax cuts.

The Story of the Three Envelopes

As the old manager was leaving, he handed three sealed envelopes to the newly appointed manager, numbered 1, 2, and 3, and said:

"Whenever you face a major crisis in this office, open envelope number 1. When you face the second major crisis, open envelope number 2. And if a third major crisis arises, open envelope number 3."

The new manager happily agreed and kept the envelopes safely.

After a long time, the Head Office sent a stern warning letter regarding the lack of business growth. The manager had no idea how to respond to the management. Suddenly, he remembered the envelopes and opened Envelope No. 1. Inside, the note read:

"Blame everything on the old manager. Say that he left things in such a mess that you are busy fixing his mistakes from scratch."

The manager did exactly that, and the problem was solved.

A few months later, another letter arrived stating that targets were not being met and asking why disciplinary action should not be taken.

Panicked, the manager opened Envelope No. 2. It said:

"Blame the staff. Say they are lazy and unproductive. Tell the Head Office you are firing some, transferring others, and implementing strict structural changes to improve the office."

The manager followed the advice, and the crisis passed.

Some time later, the Head Office expressed extreme concern again over the lack of business, noting that even the Chairman was furious.

The manager remembered the third envelope. He opened Envelope No. 3, and it read:

"Now, prepare three envelopes
