Liberal (Minority/Majority) Government 2025 - ???

and give the press 3 years to tear apart another pc leader. Better to wait another 2 years and let them expend their bile where it can't hurt.
With the exception of O'Toole, it has been well deserved. The Party keeps choosing unelectable ass-clowns as leader. I fervently want the CPC to do well....once they get serious about their leadership - on that day, they likely get my vote.

But barring that, he's so far down in the polls that his party should be forcing him out the door, but they seem content in their mediocrity.
Why though?

What are the benefits of replacing Poilievre 3 years before an election?

Because Carney doesn't have to wait 3yrs. He could wait to Oct of 2027 IF CUSMA is resigned and the economy is doing well, as an example. A number of seats could become vacant and he drops below a majority by 2-3 seats and he rolls the dice.
Oct of 2027 puts Carney 2.5yrs into a mandate. He rolls the dice and looks for another 4yrs, which would put him 1yr less than the US election of 2032.

Ignoring personalities, giving a leader two election cycles is a reasonable ask; there's a learning curve. Constant leadership churn makes strategic direction difficult. Scheer and O'Toole both being one and done suggests that the CPC learned nothing from the LPC implosions and churn that helped keep Harper as PM.

Hurry up and pick a new leader and give the LPC up to 3 years time worth of distraction and character assassination against the off chance the LPC calls an election sooner? I would think Canadians wouldn't appreciate Carney playing election games - that same gamble didn't work out for Trudeau's dirtbag covid election attempt.

And Doug Ford’s mid-term majority refresh to a full-term mandate was a different political space (greater electoral homogeneity within Ontario than all across Canada).

However on the flip side, lets say we get another federal election and Pierre loses again. Do you keep him on still or toss him? Internally he seems to be doing well but if they decided to keeo him after another election loss. I dont know if the party could recover

Or with Harper during this time period. But it did work out for Ford. That's why I said 'roll the dice' because its a gamble.

Based on my model ( ;) ) he'd have had his second chance, so it would be time to go looking for another.

Or he can go full Elizabeth May, and try to retain the leadership and repeatedly overthrow his replacements to try to hold on to an increasingly irrelevant party. Bonus points if that strategy involves Black Hills Nota Bene 2023.

I think he's lose a lot of the current votes he had if he decided to make himself look like her - maybe get his teeth rearranged (I'm sure someone would be willing to punch him in the mouth a few times) but gender reassignment surgery would definitely upset the (alleged) Christian right wing and anti-LGBTQ2i folks that are taking over things...

i mean the numbers keep getting lower and lower, polls are now putting the CPC in less than 60 seats. There is a common theme in all the different polls. The CPC is getting wiped out in the Urban centers, even in the west. This suggests the CPC is out of touch with urban voters and actively losing them hand over fist.
