I base what I see on what Carney has done to date, and EVERYTHING he does at the time he does it, has a political goal first and foremost. Take the blinders off and for once consider that politicians will do political things for politcal gains. If Poilievre was doing it, you would be screaming it from the roof tops.

He really is much more a Red Tory than he is a Blue Grit, but he is absolutely the closest to my previously membership supported PC party (
RIP). CPC as it exists today does absolutely nothing for me. If Carney hadn’t come along when he did, the Canadian Future Party would have got my vote again.

Thats always been the more legit concern imo. Something closer to the Fenian Raids than an actual invasion. Not that we could do much in an actual invasion beyond terrorism.
As Afghanistan and Iran have so eloquently demonstrated sometimes terrorism is all you need. It just takes a little longer. Viet Nam was another example

How do we know he doesn't? None of us know the actual details of the final stages of trade negotiations and what was said by the two parties. Seeing as we're not the aggressor, I'll take it at face value that the conditions demanded by the US were bridges too far.

Got specifics on how Mexico is doing better? Is it simply a case of them not having as strong of a hand, so needing to accept whatever America demands? Alternatively, is it a case of we don't hear much about the Mexican dealings with America because reporting is in Spanish and from a different country?
For me, it’s telling that Harper has stood in front of the foreign press and has said loudly that he believes that Carney did the right thing to walk away from the deal that was offered. Harper didn’t pull any punches when he said, he wasn’t hedging his bets.
Was Harper basing that off what the Cdn Gov and Cdn media has told everyone about the deal or is he on the inside of the negotiations the public doesn't have access to?
I’m fairly certain that Harper can read between the lines and was more than likely given a pretty good recap of what was presented to us.
