Liberal (Minority/Majority) Government 2025 - ???

Because it would be bad for the country. Is it impossible for you, who served in the military and the defence of our country, to imagine that anyone would act in the interests of the institution and the country and not just out of self interest? Anyone at all?
I base what I see on what Carney has done to date, and EVERYTHING he does at the time he does it, has a political goal first and foremost. Take the blinders off and for once consider that politicians will do political things for politcal gains. If Poilievre was doing it, you would be screaming it from the roof tops.

You seem to believe that you know what is in my head and heart. Please don't do that. So far, you are inevitably wrong when you try to do that.

Moreover it is disrespectful and dismissive to do so. I have not claimed any insight into your personal motives and belief system because a) it is rude, and b) it is intellectually lazy and avoids having to make arguments of substance - and although I am notoriously physically lazy, the same could not be said of my intellectual approach.

If Polievre was making the same moves, I would be supporting him. I am evolved enough to be be to make a distinction between the individual and their performance.

If Carney REALLy wanted to do put the nation FIRST, at speeds "not seen before"
-He first would have convened parliament in the summer of 2025, as Parliament had most of late 2024 and early 2025 off, they didn't need the whole summer off and contrary to what some think, bills and laws get done in parliament
-He would have repealed the stupid Trudeau era anti-energy laws immediately
-He would have clamped down on Doug Ford for his stupid ad against Trump
-He would clamp down on Eby (anyone think he is not a fool at this point?) on the pipeline development
-He wouldn't hold up the F35 deal while the P8 Poseidon and MQ9 deal is still a go
-He would make getting a deal with the USA a priority MUCH sooner (EU never going to replace the 408 Billion dollars we deal with the USA) and Claudia Sheinbaum seems to be doing ok
-He would have been up front about the Gordie Howe bridge (Even the CBC called him out for it)

Do I keep going? If you Think Carney doesn't do things for political gain, I can't help you.

I can't argue.

Carney is the best conservative to ever lead the LPC.
He really is much more a Red Tory than he is a Blue Grit, but he is absolutely the closest to my previously membership supported PC party (😔 RIP). CPC as it exists today does absolutely nothing for me. If Carney hadn’t come along when he did, the Canadian Future Party would have got my vote again.

Thanks for your personal opinion. It contained no surprises.

I do not need your help, or your vitriol.

Have a great day

I’m more concerned about “little green men” showing up in Alberta after an unsuccessful seppie referendum.
Thats always been the more legit concern imo. Something closer to the Fenian Raids than an actual invasion. Not that we could do much in an actual invasion beyond terrorism.

As Afghanistan and Iran have so eloquently demonstrated sometimes terrorism is all you need. It just takes a little longer. Viet Nam was another example

How? I thought the Conservative, or at least non-Liberal, mantra was the provinces and feds need to stay in their own lanes.

How do we know he doesn't? None of us know the actual details of the final stages of trade negotiations and what was said by the two parties. Seeing as we're not the aggressor, I'll take it at face value that the conditions demanded by the US were bridges too far.

Maybe it's all lies and we walked away from a sweet deal.

Maybe when the GM dealer won't budge, you talk to Ford.

Or do we stay seated at a table with a gun to our head?

How exactly? Ford works for the Ontario voters, not the PM.

-He would clamp down on Eby (anyone think he is not a fool at this point?) on the pipeline development
You mean like when he told BC to get on board, or the money and development would go elsewhere?

As for the other A/C, have we already paid for them? Was there another competitor that met the requirements? Remember, the Gripen met the critical requirements, the F-35 was just deemed a better fit.

Got specifics on how Mexico is doing better? Is it simply a case of them not having as strong of a hand, so needing to accept whatever America demands? Alternatively, is it a case of we don't hear much about the Mexican dealings with America because reporting is in Spanish and from a different country?

For me, it’s telling that Harper has stood in front of the foreign press and has said loudly that he believes that Carney did the right thing to walk away from the deal that was offered. Harper didn’t pull any punches when he said, he wasn’t hedging his bets.

Was Harper basing that off what the Cdn Gov and Cdn media has told everyone about the deal or is he on the inside of the negotiations the public doesn't have access to?

I mean if I had no inclination to distrust the LPC, and could take them at their word, I'd be inclined to agree... But after the last decade I don't believe the LPC, or PMMC who is now on the record lying about the bridge deal, EU associate member, and who knows what else now.

I’m fairly certain that Harper can read between the lines and was more than likely given a pretty good recap of what was presented to us.

Do you think that he would jeopardize his reputation by not having a good grasp/understanding of the situation before speaking out so strongly against the US’s position?

I wouldn't expect that from Harper, but I'm no longer surprised at knee jerk reactions related to anything Trump.

I'm curious where banning firearms and killing sports like 33-gun fits in Carneys invasion combat estimate.

I would prefer “resisting” or “freedom fighting” myself. 😉
