Life as an Infantry Soldier?

Along with wireless TOW and whatever the PC name is for Assault Pioneers is now  ;D

I heard the .50 HMG is coming back as well. Haven’t heard anything about Assault Pioneers though, at least not yet.

I don't know if they teach 60mm mortar at present in battle school. Seems to come and go.

60mm hasn’t been covered on DP1 or IPSWQ/WDM for quite a few years now.

Hey, Im currently in the process of joining full force(Infantry). Applied online and haven't really got to talk to a recruiter, and I got my interview and medical coming up. I just got some questions that I would really like answered.

1. I consider myself physically fit, im a boxer currently but I was wondering how physically fit do you actually have to be to do good as an infantry soldier. I'm 19, I can run 5km(21 mins), probably 7km if I went all out, I can lift weights, I can do 70 push ups and probably like 150+ sit ups, not sure of chin ups or pull ups.  I feel ready for bmq but ive never ruck marched or done anything like that, but Its the infantry training that comes afterward that im not sure of, how physically ready should I actually be and what things should I do to prepare. If some of the infantry people could just give me the reality of the physical fitness level I would be thankful.

2. After you are finished infantry training do you get to have a say in what regiment you want to be in or do they just send you to which ever one they decide.

3. How does moving up the ranks work, Im joining as an NCO, this questions important to me, cause im joining young and motivated and I actually do want to make this into a career. Is it based on how much time you spend in the military or how successful you are compared to the people around you or is it both? Is it actually common or rare to become a warrant officer. Any advice on this topic would be appreciated.

4. Whats the reality of the day to day living as an infantry soldier.

Thanks, hopefully I can get through this application process asap cause I just want to start training and going through those sleep deprived 5am runs haha, but on the real any answers or advice are much appreciated.
