For sure. Its a pipedream. I just struggle to see any properly equipped LCav based off the doctrine with what we have. Its either too light for armour and lethality reqs or too heavy for mobility reqs, tactical or otherwise. LAV? Too heavy. TAPV is close to the weight class but undergunned, poor mobility and unreliable. Future LUV? Not enough armour and no cannon. Any vehicle should have two dismounts imo so you have 2 troops worth of dismounts per Sqn. Should be at least 6x6 as well imo. Tricky business.
The mast might be useful for communicating with the drones, as keeping LOS with your drones is one of the big challenges in Ukraine, those who hold high ground gain a drone advantage.
Id rather a relay station. The mast is a big "shoot me" sign and you cant move with it up. Perhaps setting up and masking those relays could be a good LCav task. Sneak in, establish and mask them and then exfil.

The comms would be to the drones, it seems to be a persistent problem and a mast might give a slight advantage in a local area, where terrain masks a lot of the area or you are in the low ground. Not every vehicle would need one. I also get the issue with mobility, quick release perhaps?

Honestly I see LCAV as some dudes/dudettes in something like 2 ISV, running all three types of Class I UAS and UGV’s from micro to things like the Ripsaw

Whatever is done needs to be low probability of intercept, and low latency high bandwidth capable.

LAV 2.0, as a concept, is equivalent to the Patria CAV 6x6, which forms one element of the transport flet of other armies alongside tracks of different weights and other specialty vehicles adapted to environments.
 
Interesting, I imagine the umbilical also has a power wire in it? I wonder how long the motors are rated for in continuous flight mode?

Does it really matter if you can afford to carry 3 UAVs in each vehicle? And possibly fly two offset RRB nodes concurrently?

Ha this is Canada, you get one UAV per vehicle, 1 spare motor and set of spare blades. As wear and tear sets in, you are restricted to flying it for 4 hrs a day in one hour sets. Then the RCAF tells you you must submit a flight plan for each flight, despite the fact that it is tethered....

We're way off topic from LUVWs but typically all VHAs only have power for their own UAS. Any radio payload has to power itself.

Someone would make big money if they could figure out how to put the antenna on the UAS with a spooling RF cable so the radio can be left on the ground.
