I know that here in my unit, a bunch of ql2 qaulified pte‘s got cadpat‘s. According to clothing stores, every soilder who is ql2 qual, will be getting the cadpats but have to wait until they are ql3 qual to get the gortex kit

Anyone who showed up to get sized for Goretex and CADPAT, even those guys who only had their BMQ/SQ, got theirs.

Interesting how diverse the army policy is sometimes.

Any decisions to restrict the issue of certain kit (like DEUs or CADPAT) until after a certain qualification are local controls only. DEU issue is held until after QL3 or MOC training in some places mainly to reduce the extra issues/returns during the training period with the highest attrition rates. CADPAT was/is being issued in a cross-country blitz, with enough being brought (in available sizes) to replace the old combats held by personnel in the unit at the time. The supply system then moved on, and may not have replaced al or any of the warehouse stocks in each location at that time. That‘s why new recruits, being kitted after the ‘blitz‘ passed by may still be receiving the old combats, in many cases the CADPAT just isn‘t on the shelves to give them yet. Units supported by major supply facilities will do better sooner as the change-over continues, but eventually we‘ll see the system purged of the old combats and everyone will get the CADPAT, including during their recruit kit issue.

heh, no, by westies I meant western Canada..

As for the Gortex, they‘re VERY strict about that ql3 rule in Edmonton... The DEU regs, as was mentioned, aren‘t as strict. I‘ve got mine and I haven‘t done my 3‘s yet...

Cadpat? I have no clue, I‘ve got cadpat epilates (with a hook I haven‘t earned yet) my nametags., and have been sized up... Though I haven‘t heard anything about my being eligable for the actual combats or not yet..

Hopefully I‘ll get my 3‘s and 4‘s this summer, and won‘t have to worry about that stuff.. :)
