tanks in the ghan

about time

i watched heit and frang from the lav as well as carl-g rounds bounce off the walls of the grape drying huts, and guess where the taliban like to hide and abbush us from.

the lav is good it carries the boys and their gear, but it just cant punch throug some of the walls where the bad guys are shooting from.

every one over there was talking about how we should have the tanks over there.  and its good to see that they are there.

not too sure about what missions they have gone on but i should get some info here pretty quick.

and dont take too much from the news.  they only print what they think will be a good story.  no one has covered handing out pencils and pens to the little kids,  they dont want candy they want pens so they can learnt how to read and write.

Too late. Damn those are sexy beasts.
Doesn't surprise me after seeing his picture in the photo contest  ;D.

At least know we can give the insurgents a little gift after they fire on us  :threat:.

I was posted to Wainwright when the Leopards first came back from Germany and got to go for a ride along on a shakedown run. Awsome piece of machinery even if they are old.  It's great to see them going into battle!

One page back.

PANJWAII, Afghanistan -- For the first time since the Korean War, Canadian tanks have been deployed in a combat situation.

A squadron of Canadian leopard tanks rolled through the village of Panjwaii on Saturday morning, putting on an impressive show of force for locals before arriving at the local forward observation base.

Maj. Trevor Cadieu, the commander of B Squadron, says the deployment of the tanks, which arrived in Kandahar a month ago, will send a message to the Taliban.

He says it shows that coalition forces are determined to bring peace and security to the region.

The Panjwaii district has been the major battleground between Canadian troops and Taliban insurgents.

The leopard tanks have a 105-millimetre cannon, a gun about four times more powerful than any other weapon the Canadian military is now using in the region.
Well it's good to see, we will show the Taliban from now on not to mess with the Canadians.  :cdn:  :salute:

Strats, let them b*stards eat a plate of HESH when they attack the FOB!!!

Michael: do you have a link for that story?
