Temporarily living on a local base?

Hi, Sorry I am still new to the forum and couldn't seem to get anything towards this question by searching the forums. I am wondering if I join the reserves if I will be staying at the local military base at Edmonton Alberta or will I have to drive down there everyday for basic? As well if I am in the reserves will I be posted to say, Saint Jean and such other bases or will I continue my training locally if I am a reservist? This way I can plan ahead and know what my future may hold for planning.

The recruiter I talked to regarding weekend training said we would be at the base and I would meet at the local detachment to get driven there by the Personnel.

Try google reserve bmq and add army.ca to the tag line.
