I definitely think they believe vehicle restrictions are in the future.

Depends if you think restrictions on gun ownership is progressive (I don't), whether you think restricting gun ownership is a 'small L' liberal foundational policy (I don't), and whether you think restricting gun ownership is a "healthy" policy for the "big L" Liberals (I don't). Hope for a spring election and a populace that finally recognises the liberals want to steal our country. Once that happens, all the resources they put out of reach, will be raped to increase the coffers of the junta and leave the peons in poverty.

Just got mine. They are basically sending it out to everyone with a PAL. Now I have to decide if I'll declare 27 former restricted now prohib. If I'm lucky I'll may recoup 40%.and be left with a boatload of optics, parts, mags, tools etc etc that I can't use. Ain't life grand.

Ah. I see what you're getting at. I think EVERY American should be embarrassed by the behaviour of their president, but I think they (again all Americans) should be angry with his policies.

More specifically, you're asking should Americans who voted for Trump be embarrassed because he is enacting policies that seem counterproductive, damaging, or down right stupid. But, you're using this as a metaphor to ask whether Liberal voters should be embarrassed because the Liberals have now enacted (or rather, are pushing through with) a policy that they should view as stupid, unhelpful, or downright counterproductive.

Firstly, I don't think anyone should be "embarrassed". Pissed off, sure, but not "embarrassed". Second, not everyone "should"; why would they? For plenty of Liberals, this policy makes perfect sense; they WANT less access to guns. Even those Liberal voters who are pro-Gun may be nothing more than ambivalent.

You still have to declare regardless. Looks like it will auto populate with the restricted you have on file. The others that were former unrestricted have to be entered manually.

I believe you need to declare them all at once and then sure back and wait to see which, if any, you get money for.

Like a lottery.

I wonder if they'll look at what you own and give you compensation for a couple of the cheapest ones you have and move on. Spread the "wealth".

I'm just being petulant assuming you voted Liberal after mentioning being a proud progressive. I still think you're a cool dude even if you're probably obsessed with soup.

You're right about people being ambivalent. I think anyone who voted Liberal should be embarassed by their support for the government, specifically leading to this. The truth is many don't care, and many will be very happy over this. Some will no doubt be angry the Liberals even offered $1 compensation. I hope karma kicks into over drive here.

yeah, I doubt I'll get anything for my AR-15s, but they know about them so I might as well try to get something for them.

I guess it boils down to if you think under pressure, or by non compliance the government eventually either terminates the buyback program, grandfathers the remaining AR's and cites whatever they collected as a "success" for the Quebec voters.

Once you declare eventually you'll have to turn them in. What your doing and I suspect some will turn them in for the promise of something and that's what the government is hoping and how they structured the buyback.

Everyone has to make a decision.
