I’ll give you an example. Ten pistols are transitioned to police dog search items. Sgt Dingus doesn’t remove the item from inventory as deactivated and converted. Then the inventory is run- ten pistols are missing! Two years later they are accounted for but for the year they are lost.
There are a ton of things like this where firearms are passing in and out of inventories and they are immediately scored as lost or missing. Placed on CPIC all in an effort to appear accountable to the public but they see what they want to see.
I have very good first hand knowledge of this system and how we score firearms and where we lose them.
That said, again, we also straight up lose firearms. And cops lose theirs in public bathrooms. We are not blameless.

Most of the extortion shootings shown on the news are done with handguns. PAL or not, they shouldn't be able to legally access any handgun, or newly prohibited long guns. They are illegal firearms. Not having a PAL makes zero difference to the offenders. They are still going to get and use illegal guns and shoot up neighbourhoods.

Easy fix. Under IRPA 29(2) impose a condition that the person shall not be granted a PAL/RPAL. This can be done under IRPR 185(c) by stating they are not permitted to undertake the CFSC/CRFSC.End gun licences for international students, former B.C. solicitor general says

I can’t wait for the class action lawsuit for proper payment if this does all happen. You can’t just declare property illegal and not compensate for it as much as the Liberals seem to think they can.

both guys in that case sound a little suspicious but that doesnt mean that someone should be allowed to enter your home and attack you and you get charged

I'm not so sure it is great news. If he was tried and acquitted there would be precedent set. Now they can avoid precedent and next time when there is less media attention they will be more likely to get a conviction.

This is the part I think that is driving a fair amount of non-registration at this time. Why register when you might get nothing. If I'm getting nothing back, I might as well cut the rifle up myself and at least have that satisfaction.

There is also property they have already declared they refuse to pay for (such as AR-15 uppers, which is a substantial amount of value in). This could get very expensive if people choose to hold their legs to the fire.

If that's the plan the best COA is to register and force the underfunding right out into the open. Call the bluff.
A- you can't make a claim on a class action without attesting to ownership of the impacted property, and specifying what said property is - so pursuit of the class action effectively supplies the government with a registry anyway
B- After October 30th, unless the guns from said claim have already been surrendered or destroyed with a receipt, making the claim is essentially an invitation to be charged with illegally possessing a prohibited firearm

Destroy the property in October, with recording and then sue for the value of the property. I still have the receipts for the property.
In my case I have a registered AR-15. They know I have it, there is no just hide option, which even if available I wouldn’t take as I do follow the law as stupid as it is.
Even if you had a bunch of individuals take the government to small claims court, imagine how much the court costs would add up for say even 5k small claims cases which the government must represent itself at.
