Big time

Big time
What about a similar base in Alaska? Much different?I can’t think of a better way to spend your youth than patrolling the Cold lake fence line in January.
Unless those warm locations are USAF bases, which would already have their own in place.Until they go on TD to fighter dets to warm locations (twice a year per Squadron) and stay in Hotels doing so.
We already bring our own security when we deploy certain assets, when when going to USAF bases. We would probably do the same, even if only as liaisons.Unless those warm locations are USAF bases, which would already have their own in place.

TASOs are not real security, unless you want your box lunches secure. We already bring our own security when we deploy certain assets, when when going to USAF bases. We would probably do the same, even if only as liaisons.
There are already regular northern deployments in Inuvik, Iqaluit and sometimes, Pituffik, on top of the Southern deployments. Not sure how we could actually contribute to NANOOK, beyond what we already contribute through NORAD.Or up north if the fighters decided to support Nanook.
We fought a war like that for a decade if you recall. What scenario does one envision a FA-50 launching or dropping anything when you have a fleet of F-35s. When the enemy can't shoot back?
Let the A10 die lol, its a blue on blue menace. Why bring a gun to a drone fight these days?Sure. I wont get stuck on the plane itself. I will leave that for SMEs. My intent is that I can see a role for lesser combat air craft too...
I would love to see us get some A10s.
yet they talk of "light fighters/trainers." At least the A10 has significant armoured protection. Would probably be quite effective against dronesLet the A10 die lol, its a blue on blue menace. Why bring a gun to a drone fight these days?
How big are these drones?yet they talk of "light fighters/trainers." At least the A10 has significant armoured protection. Would probably be quite effective against drones

wikipedia says it can carry 4 aim 9s and lots of 70/APKWS pods?Because that light fighter can employ aim 120 aim 9, and has AESA radar. Using the A10s gun to shoot done drones is like skating a fly with a sledge hammer.
Hey JTFN put in the RFE not me.
A 10s carry aim 9 the same way m109s have pintle mounts. APKWS is viable for drones but thats probably not the best use of an A10, and its a pretty limited role. An FA50 can fill out FLIT requirement while also providing a low range multi role fighter capability.wikipedia says it can carry 4 aim 9s and lots of 70/APKWS pods?
Some things are worth fighting for. Lunch time is one of those things…TASOs are not real security, unless you want your box lunches secure.

Yup in an uncontested air environment accept no substitute.I watched the A10 do what it does in Panjiway in 2010. I was pretty impressed.
