I'd never heard that before. Interesting...

So when the media announces "America is sending an additional $10 billion of aid money to Ukraine..." some of those funds aren't actually getting there due to tardiness?

Thats because I am not convinced America wanted Ukraine to win, rather to hurt Russia.

Drip feed enough equipment to keep Russia bleeding, yet not enough to actually win the war.

Imagine the difference if we had sent all the equipment we sent year one instead of piecemeal over the years. It isn’t like that equipment didn’t already exist and was awaiting production.

A few years ago, someone else on this forum (can't remember who) said something along the lines of "NATO will fight for Ukraihe until the last drop of Ukranian blood..." and that stuck with me...

If we look at certain key politicians in the US and their attitude towards Russia, I too am convinced that this whole thing was meant to hurt Russia rather than help Ukraine win a real history.

It isn’t like that equipment didn’t already exist and was awaiting production.

So Presidential Drawdown is from current stock (as was the sunset Lend Lease Act).
Beyond that the vast majority of Aid is actually new builds from industry.

The Biden Administration has been playing “Mother may I” since day one. Ukraine asks for weapons systems, US says “no” for months, then when things look bleak, the US releases said weapons systems to Ukraine in limited numbers and capabilities. Spin, repeat.

Many in the US want to open the floodgates to Ukraine , but they don’t have influence in either the Biden Administration or the incoming Trump Administration. Right now, the Ukrainians are facing one administration that wants to starve them and another that wants to feed them just enough to not starve, but not enough to sustain them.

In my opinion we should arm Ukraine to the hilt and untie their hands but not send troops into the country. It is the Ukrainians’ war and it is up to them how far and how long to defend themselves and push back the invaders. We should support them this and it’s not up to us for them to decide if or when to give up.
