Soldiers,
I have decided to re-enlist after voluntarily discharging a few years back. This time I have some skills as an advanced paramedic.
So when applying the recruiters jumped at the oppurtunity to guide me down the path of semi-skilled entry. I applied in November of 2005 and after all the legit app; requirments being met my "resume" has gone off to Borden first for Basic Military Qualification board. ( I think thats what they call themselves.) and they have deemed me a recruit school bypass...little bonus, and gladly accepted. However the longest wait has been for the specialist board to rule on my resume and education experience, this occurs in Ottawa at base hospital for us medical services folks.
After the boring intro, my question is this... I already obtain a civi-provincial cert for a higher level medic that the military produces via their training center in BC, can i assume that the military will apply that certification equally to my med tech trade and allow me to enter skilled. EVEN AFTER I applied semi-skilled?
Just wondering if I screwed my chances at skilled entry. Is there anyone that has gone through such a determination before entering?
Like I said I am already getting the offer but 14 weeks in BC maybe avoided if they rule the way I hope.
Thanks for your time,

Mike

Why not just do the 14 weeks at JIBC?  You're getting paid for it and it should be a cakewalk.  I didn't think medic was a skilled trade anyway.  You're in...enjoy.

Your going to get a listing back. On it, they will list the PO/EO's written off by your
civy quals.  It will also have a listing of any outstanding PO/EO's you need to complete
for the full QL equivalency.

It doesn't sound like anything is "screwed".
