Trump administration 2024-2028

Whoops! I actually found this by checking the veracity of what seems to be an AI generated version of this that is circulating, that shows conservatives as least likely to resist US occupation. Clearly a fake
It's funny how the political groups least represented in the military are the biggest proponents to use the military to defend Canada in that poll.
Yeah maybe the NDP are just being clever and see killing two birds with one stone by sending out mostly white straight males into the machinegun fire.
I suspect the skew in results for conservatives reflects a concentration of the minority of Canadians who want to be annexed by Americans. The ones who have already told us why they look forward to greeting our new overlords.

Almost as if the conservatives know who would do the initial heavy lifting.
I find most hard core conservatives are much more inclined to follow political ideology rather than any sense of national values. Same with the hard left.

The real barometer is where the middle stands as it represents most Canadians.

Lol
That poll is clear the Canadians who don't want Canadians to own guns also want Canadians with guns to fight and die for them with guns.
I think we may have derailed this thread.

Blair, a "lefty"? As the leader who was the face (and prime mover) of "New Labour", he was far from being the stereotypical trade union socialist of the "old" Labour Party. More aptly, a 'new school lefty' - from the right (i.e., posh) schools - in other words, a centrist.
Fair statement

So some conservatives might not fight to defend Canada under particular circumstances.

Some groups might not fight to defend Canada under any circumstances.

A larger set might not fight on Canada's behalf (eg. abroad for NATO) under any circumstances also.

All of these ought to be worrisome to political leaders.

So, apparently, Trump had the Stanley Cup winning team over at the White House yesterday, and did some ribbing that a US team beat Canada and kept the Cup in the US for the 32nd year in a row, vs Canada and they like beating Canada.

Of course, being polite (like all Canadians;)), nobody pointed out to him that, out of 27 players on that roster, only four were Americans, while 12 were Canadians and 11 were from four different European countries (including four from Finland, same number as Americans on the team, from a country basically 1/60th the population of the USA).

So much for the US beating Canada.

Game that followed.

The Sadim touch strikes again. Yes, that is golden stick.

Each of the non-American players should have wore a flag lapel pin from their country. It would have been pretty obvious then.

There may be no trade deal with the EU (no word on the UK yet) by Monday. Also featuring an incredibly tone deaf response by U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, who also had some comments recently on our own deal with China.

US ‘negotiating’ is starting to morph into the Russian style…bracket hard past anything reasonable and on the other side of the bracket feign blindness to one’s own weakness and vulnerability.

That's what you get when you let an A-hole at the top of your organization (and Fantino is an A-hole) create a phony prize out of tin air and without any criteria, just so he can ingratiate himself with another A-hole at the top of another organization.

FTFY. I was initially puzzled what phony prize the former VAC minister had created that raised such ire. It was the description of the individual as an A-hole that made me think of the ex-minister.
