700lb steers are selling for an average of 3800.00 at the yard. The North American cow herd is at its lowest since the 1950’s.
Purebred animals are even pricier. A recent sale in Saskatchewan had heifer calves selling for an average of $12,000.00 (helped along by five heifers selling for an average of $40,000.00.

Maybe all of those soy farmers should have kept the cows around vice living the winter high life of a Arizona trailer park?

Also feeders cannot make a buck and the processors have so cornered the slaughter market that they are paying the feeders peanuts.
Meanwhile the cost of beef at the store keep going up. Something gotta give.

For 105$ I got roughly 30 - 40 meals out of the deer I shot last week. And I still have a another deer and bear tag to fill. And that's not including small game.
