TV vs Chest rigs

Good post,
I ask these questions not for my own info but to stimulate a discussion which really has not yet happened on this board.
As an experienced medic, I know that one solution does not work for every senario. That goes equally for the kit we carry. What I prefer to use, may not be someone elses favorite.

But for the TV, I wear it because it is what I am issued and am told to wear.

Absolutely correct, I hope my meaning was clear though that you will get some really good information on "medic" LBE if you ask over on Lightfighter. That board is pretty much a kit board and as such attracts Gear Guys from every trade, medics included. You may be able to find some interesting solutions that you might not otherwise. Those guys are eager to pass on the info too and really want nothing more than to help other people learn from their mistakes or successes.

As a kit guy, I have enjoyed following the education of some of the members of this board in equipment. If you look at how much kit has changed over the past few years it can be really hard to keep up, I think discussions like this help immeasurably, thanks for starting an intersting discussion.

For the record I prefer vests, then agian it has only been recently that we have been wearing armour on ex and as such I don't know anymore. I hate the friggin TV though and thank God I don't have to wear it when it counts.

I much perfer a variant of a T.V than a chest rig for the simple fact that every chest rig Ive worn has had a loose fit and made access to pouches a little difficult. I personally perfer the tight fit of a vest over the body armour such as the vest I brought on OP ATHENA. however, as was mentioned , it all comes down to the individual soldiers personal preferance. It would be nice if soldiers could have more freedom when it comes to wearing non issue vests ( or chest rigs) especially in the infantry.

There are different styles of TV's and chest rigs, I think we just have to find one comfortable and practical (without spending a shit load of cash) and then there is of course the repetitive statement, "will our unit allow it to be worn". I have to add this, there is a kid posting, he's seems young anyways. He probably did not search well and for that he is getting jacked up hard! Yet there are threads on here that are vaguely similar. It seems no one raps on them because they are senior members or subscribers, he's young and wants to do our job too. Remember, I was a real prick in the last couple of week's, but I've listened, anyways sorry for going waaaayyy off here, cheers! :salute: :cdn:
