Mussolini and Hitler were men with warped ideologies and personalities that were able to influence and shape based on their own cult of personality. In reality, if they were to have died early on; there would've been a fizzle pop and the world would have moved on.

Trump is the face and personality of a movement and ideology that has more depth and numbers than you would expect. He is a puppet, essentially, for those within the Right to sell that ideology to the masses.

If he dies in office, his couch-copulating Veep would carry the mantle. Followed by any number of Patsies the GOP will find to move the ball forward.

Ideas are harder to kill than people. Most authoritarian regimes have realised that; including Russia, Iran, and North Korea.

hmm since the Progressives/Left pretty much control the education system top to bottom, at least we know who is to blame.

Education is a state thing, like in Canada. Several states have teachers complaining that they must teach Creationism alongside scientific methods, etc.

So I wouldn’t say that progressives control it top to bottom, especially when the departments of education are in Republican-led states.

So Rex Tillerson, John Bolton, John Kelly and many others who had served with distinction in other administrations or in the private sector are all just sore losers and have no ability to assess Trump’s qualifications for the job? Prior to becoming POTUS, Trump screwed people big time in his business dealings. He has lied his way though life. Seriously, QV, how can you justify trusting someone like him in his new job even if a majority of people and the electoral college went in his favour?

Is one forced to have a single hero? Politically, there are some things I’ve liked about Trudeau but not all that many. I’ve liked some things about Erin O’Toole. I’ve liked some things about Robert Stanfield. The same is true of Mulroney et al. I’ve been around for a very long time and can’t say that anyone is necessarily perfect…at least in my opinion. Hero worship is not for me. Do you consider Trump your hero?

Shapiro might have given them Pennsylvania and he certainly couldn't have been more ham fisted and controversial as Walz.

I think the dems hung their hat on the abortion issue. And most voters placed that fairly far down on their list of problems. Something Trump was easily able to dismiss.They hardly touched on what was really important to voters. And they never,articulated a plan. Also, they spent their whole time giving Trump publicity instead of concentrating on the issues. The most used words in their speeches were 'I' and 'Trump.' Harris had nothing. It was only a short time before people became bored with her word salad. They wanted to hear solutions. She had none. Hiding her from the public and interviews didn't help either. i'll say though, it wasn't near all her fault. The dems need to blame Pelosi and Obama for putting her in this position in the first place.
