There is when one stops to envision the kind of world the EU parliament wants to create for itself...There is no particularly compelling reason for multi-culturalism to be a goal. Just stop trying to mix liberal and illiberal cultures. When we figure the latter are ready, they can join.
Force so much multiculturalism into everyday society that countries lose their sense of unique identity.
It's a key pillar of success if one wants to create a 'one world government' or a 'one world religion.'
...
Erase national borders as has been done inside the EU - so people get used to travelling wherever & working wherever.
Eliminate different currencies, as has been more or less done within the EU.
Eliminate different flags, or minimize their significance - as has been done with the EU flag.
Or in the UK, discourage the showing and flying of one's own flag, and publically humiliate & punish those who show loyalty or patriotism to that flag.
The massive legal & financial inconvenience alone will cause most people to comply. Those that don't are to be arrested, named and shown on the evening news for all to see.
Forced mass multiculturalism is simply the next step - but next step on a list only.
As the EU is showing us right now, these steps don't necessarily have to happen sequentially. They can happen quite concurrently, and if being weaponized against a population they should be used concurrently so as to create a psychological & fiscal blitzkrieg of sorts.
"There is no particularly compelling reason for multi-culturalism to be a goal..."
I would respectfully suggest that depends on what final outcome one is trying to achieve...
I couldn't agree with you more.It is about control and money. Right now the US profits handsomely from social media companies as they own most the top dogs. Anything which undermines that monopoly is unacceptable to the oligarchs as it is low cost high return on said corporations.
Neither side at the moment is serious about freedom of speech which isn't a good thing. The right wants the left censored. Vice versa for the left.
I get very concerned when the government steps in on freedom of speech as it is never used as intended. For example we have the right to freedom of thought, opinion, and expression. That means yes you can be a fascist, communist, monarchist, pro-democracy, pro-authoritarianism, pro-religious theocracy, etc. It is your right. You also have the right to express it.
The only time that should be illegal is if your directly calling for the death of someone else.
What should be promoted in society is tolerance, not acceptance. Tolerance simply means you have to tolerate people you don't like, not that you need to agree with them or think they should exist in the first place.
You mean the Yugoslavian method? Try to keep the lid on the pressure cooker without allowing any pressure to vent out?
The ONLY time speech should be curtailed by the state is when someone is calling for violence against a group or individual, or who is intentionally causing an active disturbance to support such messaging.
(By active disturbance to support such messaging, I'm referring to the Palestinians and other immigrants who have come here & publically protest against something, but call for violence against others while doing so. Or staging their marches through the very neighbourhoods of those they call for there to be violence against. Re Palestinians calling for the elimination of Jews while marching through a Jewish neighborhood.)
...
The hate speech laws we currently have on the books are adequate to address any violations that may take place.
But they risk inflamming the very issues they aim to protect us against if not applied equally across the board, consistently, to all people that are subject those laws. The politics of the day be damned.
(If a bunch of white people marched through a mostly black neighbourhood chanting "Kill Niggers!" I hope the police would show up and kick their asses & break that nonsense up immediately. I think the same should apply to everybody across the board.)
That's a GREAT quoteBertrand Russell: 'Do not fear to be eccentric in opinion, for every opinion now accepted was once eccentric'
