Korean shipbuilder bidding for submarine contract agrees to $345M deal with Algoma Steel

A major shipbuilder from South Korea has signed a memorandum of understanding with Algoma Steel, which would see the Sault Ste. Marie steelmaker receive up to $345 million to develop a structural steel beam mill.

we don't have a big enough market to support an Audi plant without being able to ship to the states and that's a non-starter. The German government would be crucified if they moved production here for cars heading to Europe when they are talking shutdowns and layoffs in Deutschland.

Ask yourself the number 1 reason why the SK’s made the decision a decade or two ago to build out their arms industry?
It’s because they felt that the US didn’t appreciate them and was taking advantage of them by overcharging them for US arms and controlling them as a result.
So, can they relate to what Carney’s message was in Davos? 100% they can, but can they withstand Trumps threats of tariffs and reducing US troops stationed in SK, that’s the question.
