Updated Army Service Dress project

Any idea if there is a plan to reduce the number of badges or sub unit identifiers on the uniform? Are they planning to retain the divisional badges, brigade identifiers, name tags, operational command badge, etc? I think less is more.

The uniform looks sharp. Could be disappointing to have it emblazed with a plethora of decoration that might take your eye off the clean look of the uniform itself. So sharp that I could imagine some 5 button special operations folks eyeing it.

One request: A crew neck khaki/olive sweater reminiscent of the older green “combat sweater”. I know – lots of kit. But in a future where I’d hope CF members aren’t wearing combats in an office environment every day, maybe bringing back the sweater would bridge the strict formalism of the complete service dress with a nod to practical climate and environment. Would look sharper than fleece.

One nitpick: Maybe colour the tie a slightly lighter shade from that of the tunic and slacks.
Operational dress is also being revamped (see Soldier Operational Clothing and Equipment Modernization).

As part of that, from what I've read, the Army Dress and Ceremonial Committee has been cutting down on what badges go on operational dress. The general move is towards less.
