Liberal (Minority/Majority) Government 2025 - ???

I missed this, but this was a project sent to the MPO last year, now its about to start producing. Good news for Sask, and canada.

Beauty. Copper spot prices have really picked up with the increased build out of data centers. More domestic copper production is good for Canada. Though we run the risk of further increasing our trade in goods surplus with the U.S. because they import lots of it.

I have no love of the PRC's government but shit like this (posted today on Truth Social) is probably why dialogue is reopening. Its illogical to not take threats seriously and right now, the Americans are our most serious threat, however unlikely it is to be more than rhetoric. Don't believe, but take seriously. es5q1pti54oh1.jpeg

For background this first began in 2013 under the Harper government, it was halted at the demand of the Trump administration. Its primary focus is non combat areas such as humanitarian aid, SAR, maritime security, and academic exchanges.

I would prefer we kept both at arms length. Right now, now both are malignant powers. It’s like getting close to Imperial Japan because Nazi Germany is threatening our sovereignty.

Which other NATO countries (as well as Australia, Japan and NZ), are doing something similar?

Bit of a warning regarding the Chosun article.

This article has been translated by Upstage Solar AI.

The AI used to translate thinks Justin Trudeau is still PM.

Canada, which has consistently clashed with the second Trump administration, has accelerated efforts to restore relations with China this year. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau became the first Canadian leader since 2017 to visit China in January, meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Canada agreed to import Chinese electric vehicles up to 49,000 units annually with a 6.1% tariff, while China reduced its tariff on Canadian canola seeds from about 85% to about 15%. At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, earlier this year, Trudeau emphasized the need to secure new markets and partners, stating that the international order is “in the midst of a rupture, not a transition.”

Chosun is a South Korean outlet I generally trust, but good catch on the Trudeau hallucination - even though the photo caption is correct. Funny how the original Korean version ...
... translated with Google's browser translator, has Carney as PM in both the story AND the photo caption :)

On top of the translation AI will also extrapolate from data it was trained on, even if it's incredibly out of date. One of it's bigger downsides if database upkeep is skimped.

And 1:1 machine translation (like Google) might miss some context.

Human translators still have a bit of an edge for now.

That is a wise perspective.
