All Things AB Separatism (split fm Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???)

The right honorable Smith, whom everyone ridiculed for meeting Trump, calls him and offers him some oil, energy, and steaks for protection.

The US parks some F22s and Armor in The New Republic of Alberta as a friendship visit.

They'd better be vaccinated before coming to Plague-berta...

Soaring number of Alberta measles cases worries health officials in both Canada, U.S.

Fourteen new confirmed cases of measles over the past 24 hours means the number of cases in Alberta has now climbed to a total of 409.

A large majority of the cases — 269 — are in Alberta’s south health zone, which includes the communities of Lethbridge, Medicine Hat and Taber.

More than three-quarters of the people diagnosed with the virus are children and three people are in hospital, in intensive care.

I think it’s actually just crazy — it’s appalling,” said Dr Lenore Saxinger, an infectious disease specialist at the University of Alberta.

“For context, when many current doctors were in training, in the early 2000s, shortly after measles was eliminated as something that circulates in Canada, we would see less than 10 cases a year for many years — and now we’re getting essentially close to 10 or more cases a day.”

Unfortunately the Internet and all the so called "experts" have given the stooopid anti vaxxers a platform to espouse their views and put on display their stooopidity and ignorance for all to see.

Good point. I assumed the Albertans wanting to separate were just the ones who wanted to join the US.
I don’t think Alberta can survive on its own, add most of BC and Sask, then we are getting somewhere. Being a 51st state is likely an easier transition for AB than doing it alone.

Until America says, “we’ll give you $35/barrel for WCS, no more, take it or leave it…”. Even BC and SK wouldn’t help…and only the northern interior of BC would consider separating…

Albertans always seem to complain about not being sufficiently represented in Ottawa and they rattle their sabres with talk about separation. They scream how the Liberals have screwed them time and again and fall prey to the rantings of an occasional demagogue . Maybe…just maybe…if they re-examined their fortress mentality mindset and actually considered electing local MPs who are Liberals then their voices would carry a lot more weight and change both the LPC and their province for the better. It kind of reminds me of how, for a century, the Republican Party of Abraham Lincoln ended up being detested in the American Deep South. Since then, especially after the turbulent policies of JFK and LBJ (himself a Texan), the New South has benefitted substantially from having one foot in the Democratic camp and the other in the Republican camp.

LOL. Yeah. I can totally see her call and try to sell out in that scenario.

Little green men. Followed by a new US led provisional government. Sounds about right.

They won't stay forever. Just long enough to help the fledgling government get back on their feet like we did with Afghanistan and Iraq.
The fact that they would need that to start shows that maybe they can’t be sovereign at all.

I agree with you. I also use that train of thought when it comes to First Nations being seperate nations but that's another discussion.

They are correct, Ottawa has treated Ab as a bank machine while putting up roadblocks to the way they earn money to restock the bank machine. Even when the Ab economy took a swing for the worse the Federal Government still demanded the same level of money. (kind of like alimony child support).
Ottawa turned a 4.5-5 billion dollar pipeline project privately funded into a 40billion dollar farce. Ottawa has driven away hundreds of billions of dollars in investments in manufacturing, oil and gas, mining. Only to turn around and find a better way to line their own pockets while getting hundred millions back in investments.

Opinions don't really matter in this, Facts do. Those facts do not paint a good picture of the liberal government over the past 10 years, nor does it project great future over the next 4 years.

As they say time will tell. They also say follow the money as it tells the true story.
.and they rattle their sabres with talk about separation.
Any serious talk of separation has been recent. Misguided as it is, it is something we need to really sit down and look at why.

Why would a person vote for the very same people who constantly attack the very industries that they rely on to support their families. Who have a different way of life then the people here?

There is always benefits of having one foot on either side of the line. it is called playing both sides. the problem lies in a persons ethics and values. Do I stand up for what I believe in and look myself in the mirror every day saying I did the best I could. Or do walk around with sorrow knowing I could have done better but choose not to.
