While foreign introduced measles etc area valid point it falls flat when the province has one of the lowest vaccination rates in the country meaning they have no herd immunity.

Child vaccination rates in Alberta for measles and polio are at record lows that they are nowhere near herd immmunity status. That isn’t any foreigner or religious group’s fault.

It's just the Liberal media gaslighting Conservatives Albertans instead of identifying certain communities which are the crux of the problem. They don't vote, they don't use social media so no worries at backlash, just point the fingers at them and avoid those old school hippies. Instead everyone is just pointing the finger at conservatives to stroke more political divide. Statistical clarity is hate speech now. All the media reports are "Alberta has measles" and the entire province is anti-vax, CBC is truly the voice of Canada and not here to create division and diversion.

That's not how it works. Low vaccination rates allows for what are called reservoirs in communities that don't vaccinate. Inside those reservoirs the virus can remain and undergo evolution, which leads to vaccines becoming ineffective. That's why its essential we maintain herd immunity rates, it drastically lowers the risk of these mutations coming to pass.

Of course. It’s the ones that aren’t. Herd immunity no longer exists in that province.

So the 68% of children under 2 that are should be fine. It’s the remainder that are not because herd immunity should be in the 90% plus range.

I did some quick research and this seems inaccurate. What I'm reading is that:

Routine immunization gaps
(e.g., MMR, DTP, varicella) are not grounds for medical inadmissibility.

and

The Immigration Medical Examination (IME) does not require applicants to get caught up on routine childhood vaccines
There is no mandatory vaccination before arrival, nor are you refused a visa or entry for missing routine immunizations.

Immigrants don't have to meet our vaccination standards and theyre not refused entry because of it.
