The federal government will approve a provincial/private consortium to build a pipeline… and then I guess years later after some separate carbon capture project is complete, suddenly they’ll order a halt to construction or operations? Not sure what fiendish plot you’re suggesting here.
Given that Brookfield is a majority owner of one of the major pipeline networks from the oil sands, as well major involvement in natural gas and distillate distribution, I guess we need to accept an unlimited potential for goalpost shifting, however this all plays out. I’ll laugh my ass off if Brookfield Infrastructure Partners or another Brookfield subsidiary ends up in partnership with Alberta on this.
