It’s on the A4 site at 1 CAD. USAF safe to fly list. Can you share the link to the list?
Can you share the link to the list?
Yeah, I only found one boot (S2V) in the list that is available and meets the requirements of the canforgen, luckily readily available at Canex for $334 or something like that. There is a problem with the safe to fly list. It was the most recent one that was available to the Air Staff to fast track the process, but it is out of date and very few of the boots listed are still available, or meet the Cdn requirement (not all boots on the list are approved for CAF use - eg. not the sage green boots or the safety boot versions). Attempts have been made to get an updated list from the USAF, get an in house list created and approved, and to have local support units use their best judgement in approving boots similar to those on the list that meet the standard.
Also check what the latest waivers from your flt readiness folks, as some have basically said wear anything that meets the basic standard for the army folks.
Adding boots to the list? Or declaring that they want everyone to wear the same boot? Some fleets are pushing their own style boots through the OA process, staffing them up and putting them on the list. The LRP community is one such fleet.
Adding their own flavour to acceptable boots. Expanding the list per se. Similar to what the rotary wing fleets did to allow Matterhorn style boots years before BOOTFORGEN was imagined.Adding boots to the list? Or declaring that they want everyone to wear the same boot?
They seem decent enough. Been wearing them for a couple of months now. Zero cost to the user so that’s a plus…Yeah, I only found one boot (S2V) in the list that is available and meets the requirements of the canforgen, luckily readily available at Canex for $334 or something like that.

No details passed to me - my contact at 1 CAD mentioned it in passing when I was questioning the USAF safe to fly memo.We are? Didn't know that...any idea what brand/model?
It most certainly does need exercise and training. You could have the big strong thighs but if the feet won't support them....I read something similar, but can no longer remember the source.
I seem to recall that the other issue is that people no longer walk or run any significant distance in their day to day lives. The foot is a complex piece of biological engineering that needs to be exercised and strengthened.
Why brown? Camoflage reasons?Latest BOOTFORGEN has been released.
COMBAT BOOT REIMBURSEMENT PROGRAM CANFORGEN 011/26 ADM(MAT) 02/26 191920Z JAN 26
Key changes:
- Increase from 340 to 450
- Deployment duration of 5+ months removed and replaced with deployed on named mission"
- They must be Brown
- Slightly more detailed on RCAF reqs.
When boots get dirty, they turn brown. Other than asphalt, nothing is really black at ground level in nature and coyote brown looks much sharper with the new CADPAT MT than black boots. There's also significantly more COTS options for brown boots out there due to all the time we spent in deserts over the last 20 years...Why brown? Camoflage reasons?
