My pre-existing opinions on the JRE podcast aside.
I once again ask where was this Pierre last year?
EDIT: He also appears to be taking a page out of Churchill's book of not critiquing the PM on foreign soil and said "there is only one prime minister at a time", and also mentioned about being in constant contact with Carney and giving him updates about his trip and said there is a "mutual respect" between the two.
EDIT 2: Overall I think this is one worth listening to. Lots of domestic related things in Canada got talking time, here are just a few.
- Poilievre says he wants Trump to "knock that shit off" regarding the 51st state comments
- Condemned the American tariffs on Canada and the world.
- On the topic of ICE style deportations in Canada he said "I don't think we need to do that," and said Canada is a very welcoming country.
- On Alberta separation he said it "won't happen" and "at the end of the day, Canada's going to be united."
I think we may see his favorability increase in the polls if he stays the course and doesn't bog himself and the CPC down in hyperfixating again on whatever "woke" is currently being defined as and the greater "culture war".
Thx for the highlights package. Agreed re: where was this guy during the election? Now let’s see if the narrative continues on this side of the border - and how many loooooooong interviews he grants here & with whoEDIT 3: Some helpful timestamps I have shamelessly stolen for those that have limited time.

I can honestly say that having watched a bit of it, I like him more now than before.Im just over half through and I think it's actually boring but that's a good thing. I think JR actually struggled a couple times to keep the conversation going. But overall I don't think it will hurt PP.
I had a friend, not a PP or CPC guy, say he sounded like the PM in waiting.
I thought this was good:
And just for SaGs:
Pitter padder.
A bit slow at times, but this PP would most certainly have given Carney a run for his money last April.Im just over half through and I think it's actually boring but that's a good thing. To be fair- shallow belligerent PP did do that. This version likely would have won.A bit slow at times, but this PP would most certainly have given Carney a run for his money last April.
Most of it is, as noted, boring. The relevant parts are not.Although I generally dislike listening to interviews with sitting politicians, I’ll try to find some time to give this a listen.
I absolutely love the fact that he pretty much spoke up against most of the things you support and that you thought it was a great interview.Great interview. Canada doesn't deserve PP as PM.

BS.What you just saw was PP unfiltered through the CBC and other Canadian news outlets. He was always there, but filtered. The "narrative" will appear to not continue on this side of the border when that CBC filter is once again applied.
If you really think it's only the "CBC filter" that's in place re: how people perceive him (in spite of huge poll leads over PMJT right up until PMJT GTFO'ed), why did he appear with Archetypical CBC'ist Peter Mansbridge on his podcast? I await PP's appearance on a show like this ...What you just saw was PP unfiltered through the CBC and other Canadian news outlets. He was always there, but filtered. BS.
He has a career of being an attack dog. Even his supporters who are talking heads have noticed the shift. He has no choice tbh.
"He was always there" may be true, but evidently "he" was one of two or more personalities on exhibit. The other gotcha-finding one dominated up until very, very recently. If he isn't self-disciplined enough to completely keep that one in check, the media that don't like conservatives will be happy to run clips of him running his mouth. What you just saw was PP unfiltered through the CBC and other Canadian news outlets.
