OTTAWA - The Liberal caucus is gathering today on Parliament Hill for the first time since the April election to prepare for the start of Parliament — and to decide
The Liberal caucus has met and has rejected adopting the provisions of the Reform Act. Separately, Carney has addressed causes and warned them to expect a very busy several months ahead, and some fast track legislation before summer recess.
Behind the scenes I wonder what work is being done to line up the necessary opposition votes to support fast legislating.

Looks like the Conservatives aren't the only ones who failed to learn from their mistakes. What a poor call by the LPC.
I agree. It’s not a big thing to me, but although small, it’s still disappointing.
It is disappointing, especially given the recent situation with Justin not stepping down despite many people calling for him to do so from within his own party.
Sure, the new guy is a breath of fresh air & things within the LPC are starting to stabilize. But the last guy seemed like a breath of fresh air at first also...
I'm genuinely trying to give Mr. Carney a fair & legitimate chance to show us who he is, how he's going to lead now that he's actually the Prime Minister, and what direction he's going to take this country.
I will say, it is NICE to hear that he has a vision for the country & wants to work at "breakneck speed" to get some momentum on making that vision a reality.
(I'm well aware I've had a bias against him becoming our PM, and I'm still quite nervous he's come to finish off what Justin hadn't yet accomplished. But I'm also well aware I'm probably in a media bubble...so I'm trying to give the guy some room to maneuver, especially this early in his administration, and a fair chance to show us what he's all about)

And that is something I can almost guarantee you'll get!
Just 2 weeks ago I personally witnessed an IFT crew watch Full Metal Jacket (the ENTIRE movie) and then turn around and watch 2 full episodes of Mantracker before they did some minor cleaning & clocked out.
Poilievre has pledged CPC ‘cooperation’ with the Liberals to try to end the trade dispute with the U.S.
The cynic in me suspects that CPC see more benefit from the LPC looking to them for support with key legislation on an ad hoc basis rather than re-entering an arrangement with the rump NDP or trading favours with the Bloc.
Hopefully this means no silliness around the Throne Speech.

In this issue of the line it's put out there that the Brits tried to talk the King out of coming as it may harm their diplomatic work with Trump and the USA.
I’m still in Part 3 of the episode, but Philippe Lagassé’s segment was interesting. As a funny coincidence he’s gonna be one of my profs in the fall.
