Liberal (Minority/Majority) Government 2025 - ???

Considering some ridings haven't changed hands
Ummm, except Pierre's old riding did change hands. Last year in fact. Liberal guy name Bruce Fanjoy convinced the riding he was the better candidate.

Lets look at the spins

Conservative MP been an MP for long time? Spinsters "He is a leach sucking off the public teat"

Liberal MP been an MP for a long time? "She/He is trusted by their constituents to keep representing them...blah, blah, blah"
Nobody says this. I challenge you to find where someone here said that.
Conservative MP as OPPOSITION criticizes Liberal Government "How about some cooperation in this time of need?/how dare they attack the government!"
There is constructive criticism and criticism for criticisms sake. The CPC does far too much of the latter. Its like the boy who cried wolf. If you criticize everything how are people to know what criticism is valid?

Imagine a alternate universe where the CPC kept their powder dry until something really egregious happened? Then people would take notice. Instead the CPC criticizes the government and its just a Tuesday.
Liberal MP criticizes the opposition Conservatives for doing their job "Maybe the conservatives should get on board and build Canada strong!" or some other horseshit line

Do I keep going on? You guys are judging the sitting GOVERNING party of the day with a much lower bar that you judge the official OPPOSITION for doing what they are supposed to do.
That's the challenge of being the government in waiting. If they dont like it, hand it off to the ndp or something.

Sure, and you have some ridings in Montreal and alberta that haven't changed hands since since the 1950s

There is a saying that you could run a dead dog in some ridings and as long as they were of a certain party they would still win. So winning a riding means SFA to me

On criticizing leadership, lets dive into that more deeply.

If I was still teaching military leadership course (I have taught new troops, JR NCOs and officer basics when in uniform), on leadership evaluations you have to have something to say such as
-Integrity (They say and do what they say they will and preach, as well as choosing to do the right thing at all times)
-Leadership by example (this one is self explanatory)
-Command presence (Leaders have to be bold, show confidence and a willingness to drive the team forward)
-Accountability (A leader must own their mistakes and errors, or the things they failed to do, they also take ownership of their team members and deal with it)
-Communication (a leader must be able to effectively communicate with their team and in this case, the voting public, the leader must also hear the legitimate concerns of their subordinates)
-Excellence (A leader must be highly proficient in their endeavors and seek to grow professionally, they must also help their team strive for excellence)
-Strengths and Limitations (A good leader must know themselves and their team members abilities and use them appropriately)
-Loyalty (A leader should demand loyalty and receive it from their team and also show loyalty to their team members in return)

Thats just a few things on leadership. This generic "Pierre's leadership sucks..." doesn't cut it with me or many others.

Nobody says this. I challenge you to find where someone here said that.
Challenge all you want. People are saying that or words to that effect. Believe me or don't.
The CPC does far too much of the latter
In your OPINION.
something really egregious happened?
So green slush fund still not accounted for, arrive scam not really dealt with, still no deal with Trump, trying to make deals with China, pushing the wasted effort gun grab, still no real crime legislation pushed forward, GDP not doing well, deficit soaring past Trudeau's levels, what is "egregious" enough for you?

And you are doing it as well. You refuse to hold a magnifying glass on the Liberals promises and the results or lack there of.

It means SFA to you, thats great. ridings do change hands at the most unexpected times. Ask Leslie Church how her victory in the Toronto St Paul's by election in 2024, ohhhhh, nope (she lost to Don Stewart CPC mostly because her riding hated Trudeau). Then 2025 and the Trump-Carney tag team did allow her to go as MP for said riding.

Winning each riding is literally the point of our elections.

Meanwhile, no entry for YOU, IRN officials ...
... but maybe not ALL you IRN officials :)

There are swing ridings, there are safe ridings, but i dont view winning a seat as anything to write home about.

As people annoyed by floor crossings say, people vote for parties. So what, I'm going to applauded someone winning their nomination battle?

There are many things I will applaud a person running for office for, but winning a seat multiple times doesn't doesnt do it for me.

No one cares if it impresses you or not. No one.

Career politician, held one cabinet post a

Like floor crossings, it is what it is. My point that you have skipped over is is that whats the big deal if someone gets elcted once or over and over again? You made it out like being a long serving politician is a big deal..

As I tell my wife sometimes when I'm feeling brave, if you complain about everything you're complaining about nothing.

If PP is swinging at Carney over education and his body of work, he had better have something to point at in comparison.

Hes a career politician who has lived off the government dime for decades and done nothing worth writing home about.

He is best served not drawning attention to the issue.

But even worse, and I say this as kindly as I can muster... Who the hell is PP to say this?

I looked up bios on Wikipedia. In the time that PP did his Bachelor's, Carney finished his Master's and PhD from Oxford.

Like I said, if two people I personally knew had this kind of an exchange, I would think one of them a clown and it probably wouldn't be the guy who did the PhD.

One has a more impressive resume than the other, so what?

When Pierre is right on the criticism of Carney's failed promises, predictions and actions, then who cares who has the PhD or not? Results matter.

Once again, your skipping over the results.

Deeds not words.

Me thinks Lena Diab (Immigration minister) is most likely on the way out if cabinet shuffle happens

She represents my riding...

Sad Jim Carrey GIF

Why do people attack Pierre for being in politics for so damn long? He got ELECTED by his old riding 7 times and once by his new riding. Why do people make a stink out of this? Is there a limit to how many times a person can be elected? Career politician? So what? Liberal MP Heidi Frey been an MP for 33 years.

And on making cabinet. How many MPs EVER make cabinet. And if you really want to compare experience, Carney has been an MP for barely over a year while Pierre been one for over 20.

I think when PP was younger he said or wrote something about limiting the time people can spend as an MP or some such thing... I am sure one of the Carney congregation will be along soon to provide the exact points.

Interesting. Will this impact Canada China relations?

Summarized by AI

This video from Northern Perspective criticizes the Mark Carney government's foreign policy regarding China and Taiwan. The creator argues that recent efforts to establish a "strategic partnership" with China have resulted in Beijing imposing new, restrictive conditions on Canada.

Key takeaways:

  • New Demands from Beijing: China's ambassador to Canada, Wang Di, has explicitly warned Canada against sending members of parliament to Taiwan or transiting warships through the Taiwan Strait, labeling these actions as "red lines" in bilateral relations (0:57 - 1:48, 3:18 - 3:28).
  • Recall of Liberal MPs: The video highlights an incident from January where two Liberal MPs cut a trip to Taiwan short, allegedly to avoid upsetting the Chinese government before Mark Carney's visit to Beijing (0:25 - 0:35, 2:51 - 3:02). The creator notes that Conservative MPs remained in Taiwan during that same period (4:36 - 4:44).
  • Critique of Policy: The presenter argues that the Liberal government is "cowtowing" to China for the sake of trade, while sacrificing principles and sovereignty (4:12 - 4:16, 14:10 - 14:14). They contrast this with the United States, which they claim does not dictate where Canadian officials can travel (14:56 - 15:06).
  • Panel Discussion: The video includes clips from a CBC panel (5:11 - 13:06) where guests debate whether the recall of MPs creates confusion and weakens Canada's geopolitical stance on human rights and international alliances.

He undoubtedly has an interest in the topic. But you've yet to provide evidence that it dictated policies he put out as Governor of the Bank of England and that these policies specifically impacted the UK substantially. Going to conferences and talking doesn't crash the economy.
you are a masterful obfuscator. When was the last time you listened to the news or read a report from the Governor of the Bank outlining his advise to the government at the time? Any person generally advises based upon his own personal biases. You are no different as your multiple comments would indicate. Nor am I or anyone else on these pages. Since a low carbon footprint is the flavour of the day for Carney as outlined in his own writings and since he was in a position of authority in England and since he was in the process of developing a policy that would only lend money to green projects it is probably a safe bet to say his advise would have been to stay the course re: energy and damn the torpedoes.

The bank of England, and any central bank, does not lend money to the public, either corporations or individuals. It lends money to banks.

Carney would not have been able to cherry pick which bank got what money based on who they were lending to, in this case, green project banks. It would have collapsed the UK financial system.

I dont know what rabbit holes of the internet you're getting your information from but you probably want to work on that.
