I dont think any canadian politician wants a Alan Kurdi situation on home soil outside a hospital. That's a great place to nab them though.
They're not only in the country illegally, they're running from CBSA.

Considering i had to google who the hell that is compared to the widespread knowledge of Alan Kurdi i think that may prove my point.Maybe not, but we already have Yohanna David Chol situations on home soil.

Not surprising we are in a recession. Considering our trade partner 10x our size who is 71% of our exports and 58% of our imports has decided to have a trade war with us.I think you and I have different ideas of the right direction... But hey if this is the right way for you, hell, lets see where this goes. Its not like we have choice anyway... Miller High Life ?
The understated part is how everyone wanted lower immigration but immigration was fueling a lot of economic growth. Not surprising we are in a recession. Considering our trade partner 10x our size who is 71% of our exports and 58% of our imports has decided to have a trade war with us.
On top of that we have basically been in a recession for a decade, the only thing stopping the formal declaration of that was importing so much people that it was driving up the economy in spite of everything. Now that the massive immigration has been cut back we aren’t able to pretend that isn’t the case anymore.
Optics matter. That doesn't prove your point though. It proves one case became an international media symbol while the other didn't. Public awareness and public safety aren't the same thing.
We can't prevent 3 year olds from drowning in the Ageaen sea; we can mitigate the amount of Canadians victimized by people in the country illegally.
Was he the kid whose father turned out to be a people smuggler and was never trying to come to Canada?I dont think any canadian politician wants a Alan Kurdi situation on home soil outside a hospital.
If a recession resets housing bringing it back to affordable levels, I would consider it a good thing. The understated part is how everyone wanted lower immigration but immigration was fueling a lot of economic growth.
Which is why i think a lot of people dont seem to care about being in recession. The economy isn't growing but the population isn't either so it cushions the blow.
Optics matter for perception, not truth. As we both know Nothing is true, everything is permitted.Optics matter.
I hope the housing market resets as well, but we shall need to see.If a recession resets housing bringing it back to affordable levels, I would consider it a good thing.
The optics of trying to arrest and deport someone at a hospital a la ICE is going to be way worse than whatever the truth is, especially if there are kids involved.Optics matter for perception, not truth. As we both know Nothing is true, everything is permitted.

Not saying that it shouldn't be addressed, of course it should, I'm just not surprised CBSA and the feds are not being heavy handed here.
Isn't that the guy who got court martialed and kicked out of the CAF as an officer cadet at CMR?
He also points out that he received an honourable discharge from the Canadian Forces.
