No, obviously it should be coal powered…Obviously the solution is electric aircraft and solar panels on the wings![]()

I was commenting more on Phoenix, more than GlobalEye. Sorry for lacking clarity.GlobalEye is not vapourware, given how its actively in use by the UAE, being bought by Sweden and considered by many others. The Phoenix Global based platform by IMI/L3/Korea is not proven yet though, so fair on them.
Keep in mind I am not privy to the internal of the GlobalEye however, I think the main issue at hand is available space. You have an already modified civilian business jet into an AWACS platform, now you need to try and fit the piping and rig to take the refueling on top of all this. Might need some serious redesigns to the platform to make it work. The Phoenix AWACS doesn't have that issue as AAR is built in from the start.
Nah, the CAF is short on stokers. No, obviously it should be coal powered…

I think their vapourware platform was their offer for the Maritime Patrol program which, if I recall, was no more than a picture and a promise.GlobalEye is not vapourware, given how its actively in use by the UAE, being bought by Sweden and considered by many others. I actually can form a mental picture of some stokers standing in front of a coal bin in an aircraft, madly shovelling into a furnace to keep the aircraft airborne.Nah, the CAF is short on stokers.

I don’t see anywhere in the literature that Phoenix has AAR.GlobalEye is not vapourware, given how its actively in use by the UAE, being bought by Sweden and considered by many others. The Phoenix Global based platform by IMI/L3/Korea is not proven yet though, so fair on them.

I don't think that it does.I don’t see anywhere in the literature that Phoenix has AAR.
But, a Gripen will be manufactured in Quebec. If Bombardier and Saab agree privately, without the Canadian Govt, that they want to become partners for Gripen production/assembly, now that would put political pressure on Canada to adopt the Gripen. If that isn't happening, this is nothing but further desperation from Saab to salvage their bid with Canada.
Nah, the CAF is short on stokers.

Sorry - brain fart where I confused AAR with a radar system and not air to air refueling.
so Saab can buy Bombardier to obtain a reliable off-shore production facility. Gives them other products to work with as well.Safe production away from the eastern front. A highly skilled workforce who can be part of future development of not only aircraft but multiple other systems. Similar reason reason why Korea is trying to get our support and buy their systems.

Hmmmm, could this be part of a smooze campaign for Saab?

King and queen of Sweden to visit Canada this month
The Swedish king and queen will be in Canada later this month, the Governor General announced Monday.www.ctvnews.ca
King and queen of Sweden to visit Canada this month
While an agenda for the trip has yet to be released, the release said the royal couple will make stops in Ottawa and Montreal, attending events meant to “deepen the ties between Canada and Sweden.” ---- The fact that they are going to be in Montreal, where Bombardier is HQ'ed is suspicious.
Calling Sweden an “important economic and security partner,” the news release said the visit is meant to strengthen political, defence and trade relations between the countries, with emphasis on Canada’s Arctic foreign policy.
